MarVista Ent. has released an official trailer for Swimming for Gold, a campy motivational sports romantic comedy from "Love Island" director Hayley MacFarlane. When US women's swim team hopeful Claire Carpenter's dad sends her to Australia to coach an elite boys swim team, Claire finds herself face to face with long-time rival Mikayla Michaels, and the news that the camp will close if the team loses the next meet. To save the camp, Claire must overcome a secret fear, put aside her differences with Mikayla, and rediscover her passion for swimming. Starring Peyton List as Claire, joined by Daniel Needs, Lauren Esposito, Olivia Nardini, Johrel Martschinke, Ray Chong Nee, Martin Dingle Wall, and Candice Hill. This looks as cheesy as any movie can be, with every last romcom trope and cringe-worthy bit of dialogue they could squeeze in.

Rosie Lourde is making her feature film directing debut on Romance on the Menu, a romantic comedy from the Steve Jaggi Company now shooting in Brisbane.

Scripted by Americans Casie Tabanou and Alison Spuck, who wrote Jaggi’s Back of the Net, the film stars Canadian Cindy Busby (Heartland) as New York restaurateur Caroline Wilson, who inherits a café in Lemon Myrtle Cove, Australia.

As she renovates the business to sell, she begins to fall in love with the place, its people and charming local chef Simon Cook (Tim Ross).

While her ex-fiancé Nathaniel (Joey Vieira) begging her to take him back and pressing work commitments back home, she is faced with a big decision: Give up her New York life and stay in Lemon Myrtle Cove or return to the big city.

American actress Peyton List, who starred in the Disney Channel series Jessie and the spin-off Bunk’d, is playing the protagonist in young adult feature film Swimming for Gold.

Now shooting in Brisbane, the narrative follows List’s Claire Carpenter, a 17-year-old elite swimmer who is reluctantly sent to Australia to coach a boys’ swimming team after a jet ski accident left her with a fear of water.

Lauren Esposito co-stars as Mikayla Michaels, Claire’s rival and sworn enemy with whom she is forced to share a room at the swimming camp.

Daniel Needs is Liam, the captain of the boys’ team who challenges Claire, explaining that if they don’t win, the camp will be forced to close.
