Espen P.A. Lervaag is a Norwegian scriptwriter with a multitude of talents. He is also a renown comedian and actor who currently resides and works in Norway. He was born in 1977 in the outskirts of Oslo in a small town called Hurum.
He was an up and coming soccer player in his youth, but sadly due to an injury he had to let go of the dream of going pro. This was a major blow to him since it was one of his biggest childhood dreams.
After high school ended Espen worked with a variety of things, but he was always a big dreamer. His next goal in life couldn't be further away from the goals you usually find in football fields. He now dreamed of being a writer of comedy and in 2009, at the tender age of 31, he decided to take matters in his own hands. He applied for a copy-writing class in Westerdals School of Communication in Oslo. The class took him three years to complete and in 2012 he went from the comforts of the school bench to that harsh reality of surviving as a writer in the industry.
It didn't take long before people started noticing his raw talent and wanted to work with him. The list of people he has worked with since is long and includes some of Norway's biggest and hottest names. But this was not enough for the young boy from Hurum. Espen always dreamed of working in front of the camera and in 2013 he and his friend Håkon Bast Mossige signed a deal with the production company Rubicon TV, were they both wrote and starred in the humor/drama Maniac. The show aired in 2015 with descent critics but what was going to happen next was nothing short of impressive. In 2016, Maniac was picked by Anonymous Content and Paramount for a remake. The show will be aired on Netflix and will star Oscar nominees Jonah Hill and Emma Stone. Espen is currently working on a second season of Maniac and still continues to write and perform both on stage and in front of the camera.
He is married and is a father of one.
