Graceffa didn’t say that “Escape the Night” was canceled. However, a source tells Variety that YouTube declined to pick up “Etn” Season 5.

Kingsley, Jenn McAllister, Tyler Oakley, and Andrea Russett are all taking part in a clever new social campaign urging first-time voters to register and turn up at the polls this Election Day. Spearheaded by the youth-oriented nonprofit Do Something, the campaign is titled Lose Your V-Card and features taglines like, ‘You never forget your first time.’
The campaign will run through Oct. 31. After signing up to receive voter registration info, users will receive personalized ‘V-Cards’ -- or images with their photos and suggestive taglines -- that they can then share across social media. And when participants share voter registration information with friends, they are automatically entered to win a $5,000 scholarship. Do Something says that there are a total of 16.9 million potential new voters this election cycle.

In its most recent letter to shareholders, Twitter reaffirmed its commitment to creators and influencers as one of the company's five top priorities in 2016. And now, Twitter has tapped a slew of social stars, including The Dolan Twins and Andrea Russett, for a new video ad campaign.
The campaign aims to spotlight Stickers, a new feature announced last month and now available widely enabling users to paste hundreds of cartoon-like images onto their photos. Stickers also serve as visual hashtags of sorts, in that clicking on any given animated image brings up a feed of other photos featuring that same Sticker.

Made-for-mobile feature film Sickhouse, a horror flick that debuted on social media star Andrea Russett’s Snapchat account, was so successful that it’s getting a sequel. “The sequel to Sickhouse will reinvent the franchise and will begin when audiences least expect it so as to once again blur the lines between reality and fiction,” the film’s producer, Indigenous Media, said in a release.
Indigenous did not disclose the plot of the film or any casting details, so as to create a similar effect as to when Russett’s Snapchat account, without any warning, turned into a fictional horror film between April 29 and May 3.
“Andrea’s fans, horror lovers, and social media mavens alike have all embraced Sickhouse,” said Indigenous Media COO Jake Avnet in a statement. “Viewership has demonstrated an appetite for content on the platforms where audiences spend their time. The model for the production, distribution and marketing of films is changing.

Producer of Hannah Macpherson’s film posted on the temporary social media says it took a while for followers to work out they were watching a movie
When it comes to the perfect format for cinema, Hollywood has always touted the big screen over home viewing. But what happens when a film is specifically designed to be watched on the tiniest, least “cinematic” of screens: that of the plain old mobile phone? Found-footage horror Sickhouse goes one step further. It is not only best viewed on a pocket device, it was shot and distributed to audiences using entirely mobile-based technology.
Filmed on a series of iPhones, Hannah Macpherson’s film was originally uploaded in 10-second virtual vignettes over five days, between 29 April and 3 May, to the Snapchat account of YouTube celebrity Andrea Russett, who plays a version of herself in the Blair Witch-style chiller. Russett’s 500,000-plus followers on the...

Sickhouse - which stars a handful of digital influencers - follows a group of friends as they embark on a journey to visit a seemingly abandoned house in the woods, dubbed Sickhouse, after an urban legend about the location intrigues the group. Snapchat is the wildly-popular social media platform you're probably not using if you're an old-fogey like me, but with more than 100 million active daily users, it's clearly what the kids are into these days. Now, a famous person whom you probably haven't heard of if you're under 25 -- YouTube star Andrea Russett -- has cleverly used the social media platform to debut an entire feature-length horror film in 10 second snippets (the maximum video length allowed on the service). It truly is a different world. Directed by Hannah Macpherson and shot entirely on iPhones, Sickhouse -- as profiled in a lengthy story/review over at Vulture -- is essentially Blair Witch for the young millenial set, albeit perhaps not up to par, quality-wise, with that 1999 found-footage blockbuster. Here's the summary: In the horror movie Sickhouse, a familiar narrative unfolds: A bunch of teens decide they want to look into some urban legend,...

After unveiling its eponymous subscription platform last month with a full slate of originals, Fullscreen has announced the debut of its first new series since the service’s launch.
Beginning today, the network will air the first three episodes of Making Moves, a racy, nine-episode dance series featuring the YouTuber Andrea Russett -- with two additional episodes arriving every Wednesday. Dance is clearly a potent category for the digital demographic: YouTube’s first original film for its subscription service, YouTube Red, was Dance Camp, created alongside Awesomeness Films.
Making Moves, which was developed by key members of the creative team behind the Step Up franchise, will feature high-octane dance routines and tell the story of an aspiring dancer who moves to Los Angeles to make it within the cutthroat digital dance scene. Starring Raychel Diane Weiner of Starz’s Flesh And Bone, Making Moves was created and directed by John Swetnam...

A horror film that first arrived in an unconventional manner is now set for a more traditional release. Sickhouse, which stars social media influencers Andrea Russett and Sean O’Donnell and is produced by Indigenous Media, is now available for pre-order through Vimeo On Demand after first launching as a series of Snapchat videos.
Sickhouse’s plot is rather conventional: It follows a group of friends who head into the woods and encounter a deadly secret. The film was unique, however, in terms of its release, with an Indigenous press release describing it as “made-for-mobile.” Between April 29th and May 3rd, a series of Snaps shot in real time told the film’s story to Russett and O’Donnell’s followers. As that rollout is now complete, a longer “Director’s Cut” will now be available on Vimeo. That version retails for $5.99 and will be available for download beginning on June 1st.

Talent agency Wme is adding to its roster of digital stars, signing musician Jon Cozart, budding actress Andrea Russett, and quirky family vlog squad the Eh Bee Family.
Cozart, who recently dropped a scathing musical account of the YouTube landscape in 2016, blends pop culture and current affairs as a so-called “info-tainer,” according to Wme. His Paint channel counts 3.4 million subscribers and 267 million views.
Russett, who starred opposite Cameron Dallas in 2014’s Expelled (which was the second most-downloaded movie on iTunes that year), also appears in this summer’s Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, starring Zac Efron and Adam DeVine. In addition to partnering with top brands on her channel like Netflix, At&T, Pizza Hut, and Coca Cola, Russett is also an avid supporter of The Thirst Project, which aims to provide communities around the world with safe drinking water.

Many Instragrammers are in a downright tizzy about an algorithmic change -- now rumored to drop tomorrow -- in which posts will be displayed according to significance as opposed to reverse chronological order. And so the precautionary (and frantic) hashtag #TurnMeOn has been born.
The hashtag, which currently accounts for more than 40,000 posts on Instagram, is a besiege by some creators asking their fans to turn on push notifications for all future posts.
On March 16, Instagram announced that its algorithmic change would arrive in “coming months”, insisting, at first, that the entirety of every user’s feed would still be visible -- just in a different order. But as rumors swirled, particularly in the UK, that the algorithm would go into effect tomorrow, creators like Cameron Dallas, Gigi Gorgeous, and Andrea Russett began imploring their followers to turn on notifications -- many of them using special graphics created especially for the occasion.
