On the September 13, 2021 edition of WWE RAW, Big E cashed in his Money In The Bank contract, and defeated Bobby Lashley to become the new WWE champion.

On the March 11th, 2022 episode of Smackdown, Langston suffered a broken neck when Ridge Holland attempted an overhead belly-to-belly suplex outside the ring. Langston landed on the crown of his head, and was rushed to the University of Alabama-Birmingham hospital, where they discovered he had fractured his C-1 and C-6 vertebrae. Langston later posted a video update on Twitter relaying the news that doctors had found that there was no spinal cord or ligament damage or vertebra displacement, and that surgery wasn't required, and that he was in relatively good spirits, as well as thanking everyone for the outpouring of support and well wishes.

On May 5. 2025, Ewen announced his engagement Kris Yim. After a year of dating. The sister of fellow professional wrestler Stephanie Bell.
