Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Heather Dubrow and Shannon Beador, it seems, have put aside their differences for a Deadpool & Wolverine ad, as Deadpool mastermind and star Ryan Reynolds continues to target the key broadcast demo of adults 18-49 — majority female — for his superhero sequel that is set to take over the box office.
In the promo for Marvel and Disney’s Deadpool 3, the Bravo stars get a surprise from Reynolds. He pens them a letter, thanking them for their “inspiration” for the movie’s story and advising them to “be good to each other,” as “that’s what friends are truly for.” They also each receive a gift: friendship heart necklaces, with Beador getting the Deadpool half and Dubrow receiving Wolverine’s.
The ad (below, shared by both Dubrow and Beador) then flashes back to nine months prior. Reynolds, behind on writing the script (which was written alongside Rhett Reese,...

Carol Burnett’s 90 Years of Laughter and Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie were the big winners on night 2 of the Creative Arts Emmys on Sunday, while Queer Eye — already sick with Emmys — took home yet another for Outstanding Structured Reality Show. So did RuPaul (for hosting Drag Race) and The Simpsons (Animated Series), naturally.
Burnett’s sentimental trip down memory lane won Variety Special (pre-recorded), while Still won for Outstanding Documentary and Director (Davis Guggenheim).
“This is very encouraging,” Burnett said from the stage, before telling everyone to drive home safely.
Barack Obama, who was sadly Ma from the awards show in downtown L.A.’s Peacock Theater, picked up a trophy for narrating Working: What We Do All Day, while Welcome to Wrexham racked up wins for Unstructured Reality Show, Editing and Cinematography.

The first season tracked the Two Robs takeover of the club and their crash course in soccer fandom (and mostly despair) as Wrexham attempts to gain promotion from the National League. Season two continues the club’s progress as Reynolds and McElhenney sink more money into Wrexham to realize their promotion dreams.

Sometimes when you’re a director of television. it’s the moments you don’t expect to be more than connective tissue on a project that prove most interesting and surprising. Take the project that earned directing partners (and husband and wife) Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton their Emmy nomination this year, the FX limited series “Fleishman Is in Trouble.” Dayton points to a scene involving co-star Claire Danes in which her character has just engaged in primal scream therapy. “She’s just gone down this rabbit hole and she’s with this guy she’s having an affair with, and just silently eating a salad,” Dayton says. “Taking really big bites,” adds Faris. “And it’s so funny and weird and loaded,” Dayton continues. “Claire showed you can make eating a salad a layered performance. “We were just thinking, ‘Do we even need this scene?’,” Faris admits, and she...

As he sits for a Zoom interview with Gold Derby, Bryan Rowland admits he’s a little bit shellshocked to be here, as his career trajectory has been something of a whirlwind. He got his start doing cinematography on documentaries. Then he met Ryan Reynolds, and it led to doing promotional material for the actor. Then he started editing episodes of the docuseries “Welcome to Wrexham” for Reynolds and partner Rob McElhenney orf “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” fame. Suddenly, they ask him to direct an episode on very short notice. Then for Season 2 of “Wrexham,” Reynolds and McElhenney asked Rowland if he could be its showrunner. And finally in July, he received Emmy nominations for both his directing and editing on “Wrexham.” “It’s just been absolutely amazing and terrifying,” Rowland admits, “and very surreal. “The system of football in England is such a different concept for American viewers,” admits “Welcome to Wrexham” editor Michael Anthony Brown in our recent webchat. The show explores Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney purchasing the Wrexham football club in Wales. Brown’s fellow editor Curtis McConnell adds, “What was helpful was Rob and Ryan being willing to lean into their ignorance. It helps the American audience identify with them. They were really helpful in making a complex sports palatable.” Watch the exclusive video interview with the pair or editors above.
The sports documentary series follows the football club after its acquisition by the Hollywood stars. It shows the club’s quest to be promoted to a higher league as well as the impact the team has on the town of Wrexham. McConnell explains, “I wanted to do the town justice. It’s finding those connections between the club and the town.
