- Director
Jamie Kohen has run large teams on 190+ TV episodes -- documentary, competitions, game shows -- working in development, on pilots and on some of the longest-running, Emmy Award-winning series on TV (NETFLIX, E!, FOOD NETWORK, DISCOVERY, MTV, TBS, SCIENCE, VICELAND...) She is a member of the CASTING SOCIETY OF AMERICA, the TELEVISION ACADEMY and NY WOMEN IN FILM & TV.
As a Senior Casting Director in nonfiction TV, she finds and shares stories about people from all walks of life to fit within -- and to shape -- a broader story. She's fascinated by human behavior -- what it is from the past that defines someone's present -- and how that moves society forward.
As the Head of Development and Production at Bright-Eyed Media, Jamie works closely with agents, talent and network executives to ideate, cast and produce original documentary & unscripted formats -- she sold her first series, 'Munch Rush' in 2017.
For a decade prior to Jamie's career in entertainment, she worked in marketing, branding and design in NYC. Restaurant clients included il Buco, Balthazar, Pastis, Pravda, Morandi, and others. She was also the publicist to Celebrity Psychic Judy Hoffman and Greenstone, an eco-friendly real estate developer in Brooklyn.
Jamie's goal is to create thought-provoking series that make people feel. She studied Interior Space Planning at Parsons School of Design, has traveled the globe extensively and was born and raised in NYC.
