Kareem McMichael is an award-winning filmmaker and documentarian. He has produced and performed in several short films in a variety of genres and produced documentaries with social justice themes. He received his B.A. from Savannah State University in Broadcast Journalism and a certification in production from the Georgia Film Academy. He has worked for the ABC, Fox, and CBS news affiliates in Savannah, GA. He serves on the Board of Governors for the Southeast Emmy National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).
In 2017, he, along with the Georgia Film Academy program, was recognized at the Georgia State Capitol in House Resolution 661 for his work on the Savannah Feed the Hungry documentary. His film "MLK JR. BLVD" has been in over 15 film festivals, winning numerous recognition's, including a Davey award from the Academy of Interactive and Media Arts. McMichael has produced numerous other documentaries and short films.
