It’s the end of the road for “And Just Like That.”

The “Sex and the City” sequel series will end with its third season, which is currently rolling out on HBO Max, showrunner Michael Patrick King announced on social media on Friday. He said the decision was made in conjunction with star Sarah Jessica Parker, HBO and HBO Max boss Casey Bloys and HBO Max content head Sarah Aubrey as he wrote the ending of Season 3, which led to a two-episode extension to wrap up storylines appropriately.

“Sjp and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” he said in a statement. “It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

‘And Just Like That…’ Sends A Revered Character Actor to His Eternal Rest With A Very Horny Storyline
Image
In its day, Sex and the City did what The Mary Tyler Moore Show could only hint at: portrayed what dating is actually like for thirtysomething women. It certainly didn’t get everything right, and some of it looks cringey (or worse) today, but the people who made it have a chance others of its era don’t: It can try to do better in its sequel.

And Just Like That…, now in its third season, catches up with three of Sex and the City’s original characters — and adds a couple of their newer friends — to show what dating is like for people across the gender spectrum, age fiftysomething and up. The latest episode concerns itself with characters who are fiftysomething and way up, and if this ends up being Harris Yulin’s very last performance, we may all be glad it was so horny.

Yulin plays Morris Goldenblatt,...

‘And Just Like That’ will be back — but it won’t be Emmy eligible this season

And just like that, it will soon be time for more And Just Like That...

Carrie and friends will return to Max for season three on May 29 for a 12-episode season, which will run weekly through Aug. 14. The weekly rollout, though, means the comedy won't be eligible until next year's Emmy Awards.

Per the official Television Academy rules, at least six episodes of a given series must air by May 31 to be eligible. While the original series Sex and the City earned 54 Emmy nominations and won 7, the new iteration hasn't resonated in the same way with awards voters.

The show, which chronicles the years-long friendship of Parker's Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte), also stars Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Cathy Ang, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, Mehcad Brooks, Jonathan Cake, Niall Cunningham, Logan Marshall-Green, Sebastiano Pigazzi, Alexa Swinton, and Dolly Wells. ‘And Just Like That’ Season 3 Trailer: Carrie Bradshaw Is Back on the Market, But Will Aidan Break Her Heart Again?
Image
“And Just Like That” is missing a certain je n’ais Che quoi.

The third season of the “Sex and the City” revival series is also the first installment sans “controversial character” (in the words of series staple Cynthia Nixon) Che Diaz, who was played by Sara Ramirez. Che was a stand-up comedian who became the love interest of Miranda (Nixon) and kickstarted her coming out story.

And Season 3 of “And Just Like That” also picks up after Samantha Jones’ (Kim Cattrall) shocking cameo and Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) third split with Aidan (John Corbett). But don’t worry, Corbett is set to reprise his role for Season 3, along with series leads Parker, Nixon, and Kristin Davis. And he seems to be back with Carrie too…

The core group is rounded out by Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, Niall Cunningham, Cathy Ang, Sebastiano Pigazzi,...

Rosemarie DeWitt Says Ron Livingston Had to Hide from ‘Sex and the City’ Fans for Years: ‘Women Would Come Up and Scream at Him’
Image
Ron Livingston can’t walk down the street without “Sex and the City” fans hating him. Or, more precisely, his infamous character Jack Berger.

During Season 5 of the hit series, Livingston’s Berger dates Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie. A struggling novelist, Berger’s mood swings lead to him ending things with Carrie via Post-it, reading, “I’m sorry. I can’t. Don’t hate me.”

Livingston’s real-life wife, fellow actress Rosemarie DeWitt, said during “The Drew Barrymore Show” that she and Livingston couldn’t even walk through New York City without rabid “Sex and the City” fans accosting them.

“Back in the day, when we first started dating, we’d be walking in the West Village, and there’d be those ‘Sex and the City’ tours, and Ron would be like, ‘Go left! Go left!,’” DeWitt said. “We’d have to duck into Magnolia Bakery or something because...

Kim Cattrall Says She Is Not Returning to ‘And Just Like That’
Image
Samantha Jones is staying in London according to actress Kim Cattrall.

The “Sex and the City” alum tweeted that she will not reprise her role for Season 3 of revival series “And Just Like That.” Cattrall briefly appeared in the Season 2 finale in a scene filmed separate from the core cast.

Life & Style reported that Cattrall was set to be back for Season 3, with a source telling the outlet that Cattrall would again film away from the rest of the cast. The publication said HBO was “bending over backwards to pay her an absolute fortune, and it’s all on her terms because she’s so central to the franchise.”

Not true, according to the actress herself.

“Aw that’s so kind but I’m not,” Cattrall commented when an Elle UK article claiming her return was reposted on X.

“Our mom was the most elegant, delicious person,” Nina said. Jamie added, “She knew exactly what the deal was.” Alexander chimed in, “They, obviously, loved each other to death. ‘Maestro’: Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein Biopic Unveils Official Trailer
Image
Bradley Cooper embodies Leonard Bernstein in the new trailer for Maestro, the actor-director’s acclaimed biopic about the legendary composer and his lifelong relationship with Felicia Montealegre, played by Carey Mulligan.

Following its teaser trailer this summer, the latest preview further highlights the painstaking (and somewhat controversial) level of detail that Cooper brought to the film, which is divided into both black-and-white (to show flashbacks of Bernstein and Montealegre’s life) and almost cinema verite-style color footage to document the composer’s later years.

“Maestro is the towering and fearless...

Bradley Cooper Becomes the First Great American Conductor in Trailer for Maestro: Watch
Image
Netflix has released the full-length trailer for Bradley Cooper’s forthcoming Leonard Bernstein biopic, Maestro, ahead of its limited November 22nd release in theaters. Watch the clip below.

The clip also hints at Bernstein’s struggles with sexual identity and various infidelities throughout his marriage. Near the end of the trailer, Cooper says, “I love people so much it’s hard for me to be alone. And music, it keeps glued to life.”

Maestro was directed by Cooper from a script he co-wrote with Josh Singer, while Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg served as producers.

‘Maestro’ Scores One of the Best Trailers of the Year in Sweeping Look at Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein Film
Image
Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan bring Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre to life in the first official trailer for “Maestro,” premiering in limited theaters on Nov. 22 and arriving on Netflix Dec. 20.

In the trailer, Cooper and Mulligan travel through time as the couple experiences love, betrayal and music. The movie encompasses Bernstein’s professional life but glosses over his commercial achievements in favor of focusing on his complicated relationship with Montealegre.

“If summer doesn’t sing in you then nothing sings in you,” Cooper says at the beginning of the trailer as an old man, gently playing the piano. Later on in the trailer, but depicting the young couple decades before, Mulligan finishes the sentence: “And if nothing sings in you, then you can’t make music.”

As the trailer sweeps through the years, and in and out of color, Cooper portrays the legendary American conductor and composer as he...

But the heart of the composer of Broadway’s West Side Story and the first American-born-and-trained music director of the New York Philharmonic was as complex as the mind of the arrangements, the new two-minute trailer reveals. “There’s a price for being in my brother’s orbit, you know that,” Sarah Silverman’s Shirley Bernstein tells Felicia.

That price, as teased,...

“The last stage, he had covered pretty much everywhere, the bodysuit and arms. That took over five hours,” Hiro recalled. “Our call time was 1 in the morning. The other thing was he wanted makeup to be finished before the crew call, so he would appear as Lenny...
