The Sandman‘s Morpheus… does not seem to have lightened up much in Season 2 of the Netflix drama.

To wit: TVLine’s month-long #2025FirstLook series continues with an exclusive — and intense — behind-the-scenes shot of Tom Sturridge on the set of the fantasy’s sophomore season. While we’re not exactly sure what Sturridge’s Morpheus is doing in the scene, we know a) it likely involves ancient magic, and b) whichever character the camera is standing in for might want to duck.

Sixty-two minutes into the Season Three finale of Industry, you might have mistakenly thought it was safe to exhale. HBO’s notoriously tense finance drama, which revolves around the exploits of employees at the fictional investment bank Pierpoint & Co., was giving us a rare moment of resolution for its key players: Crisis-ridden nepo baby Yasmin Kara-Hanani (Marisa Abela) got engaged to aristocrat Henry Muck (Kit Harington). College dropout Harper Stern (Myha’la) was having a #GirlBoss moment in Forbes magazine. Even so-called sad boy Rob Spearing (Harry Lawtey) was getting a fresh start in Silicon Valley.

Season 2 of the The Sandman went into production last year, then had to be put on pause for a while due to the writers and actors strikes. Thankfully, The Sandman season 2 was able to resume production as soon as those strikes came to an end, and a couple months ago we heard that new cast additions include Esmé Creed-Miles (Hanna) as Delirium, Adrian Lester (Hustle) as Destiny, and Barry Sloane (Pleasureland) as The Prodigal. When Netflix ordered season 2, they said, “The Sandman will return with new episodes based on multiple volumes of the Neil Gaiman graphic novel to explore even more stories of the Endless.“

Netflix has shared a new behind-the-scenes clip from the upcoming episodes and shared by Deadline. In the new look, Tom Sturridge‘s character, Dream (aka Morpheus), is seen bonding with his siblings. Plus, the eponymous character meets a few other familiar faces from Neil Gaiman‘s comic book series.

Starring Noel Fielding, Duayne Boachie, Ellie White, Marc Wootton, Dolly Wells, Mark Heap, Geoff McGivern, Joe Wilkinson, Kiri Flaherty, Hugh Bonneville, Asim Chaudhry, and Tamsin Greig, the series is a fictional take of the life of Dick Turpin (Fielding). Noel Fielding’s comedy series The Completely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin has been renewed for a second series at Apple TV+, here are the details.

Noel Fielding, along with comedy partner Julian Barratt, blasted onto the UK comedy scene with double act The Mighty Boosh, which found success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1998. After that, it went to TV, with three series of what might be the most surreal, esoteric comedy ever broadcast on British television. All episodes were directed by Paul King, who went on to achieve national treasure status alongside Simon Farnaby for co-writing and directing the Paddington films and the recently released Wonka.

Apple TV+ has given the green light to a second season of The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, the comedy-adventure series starring Noel Fielding as a legendary British highwayman. The series debuted globally on Friday, March 1, 2024.

In the six-episode series, Dick Turpin (Fielding) sets out on a journey of wildly absurd escapades when he’s made the reluctant leader of a band of outlaws — and tasked with outwitting corrupt lawman and self-appointed thief-taker Jonathan Wilde (Hugh Bonneville).

In this irreverent retelling set in the 18th century, Turpin is the most famous but least likely of highway robbers, whose success is defined mainly by his charm, showmanship, and great hair.

Game of Thrones‘ Jack Gleeson will join Netflix’s fantasy series for its sophomore run, TVLine has learned. He’ll play Puck, who is described as “a malevolent hobgoblin who serves as the royal jester to King Auberon of Faerie. Puck is fascinated by mortals and enjoys nothing more than making sport of them for his own amusement. He’s also the inspiration for Shakespeare’s Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

“The Sandman” is adding several new cast members to its already growing lineup for Season 2, and these actors will be playing characters introduced in fan-favorite storylines from Neil Gaiman’s beloved DC graphic novel series, including Ruairi O’Connor, who has been cast as the son of Tom Sturridge’s Dream.

Netflix announced on its Tudum website Tuesday that O’Connor will play Orpheus : “the poet, musician, and oracle, is the only child of Dream and the muse, Calliope. Orpheus is an idealistic, romantic, young man – and very much his father’s son – until tragedy strikes and reveals to him the true nature of love.”

Also joining “The Sandman” cast for Season 2, per Tudum, are Freddie Fox as Loki, Clive Russell as Odin, Laurence O’Fuarain as Thor, Ann Skelly as Nuala, Douglas Booth as Cluracan and Jack Gleeson as Puck, all characters featured in the “Season of Mists” arc from “The Sandman” graphic novels.

People Just Do Nothing star Asim Chaudhry has some choice words for the UK’s Conservative government.

With less than two weeks to go until the July 4 general election, Chaudhry, aka Asim C, has dropped “Meet the Tories” on YouTube, a version of Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss “Meet the Grahams” that takes aim at the 14-year-old government. Watch the “Meet the Tories” video below.

Chaudhry said he wants the song to “serve as a powerful reminder of the crimes and apathy of these controversial politicians,” and he attacks prime ministers from Rishi Sunak to Margaret Thatcher.

Netflix’s The Sandman is getting ready for season 2 as the streamer announces new additions to the series’ cast.

Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester and Barry Sloane have been cast in the series as Delirium, Destiny and The Prodigal respectively. These are the three remaining siblings of the Endless family.

Season 2 was announced first in November 2022 but the production itself was severely delayed by the Hollywood strikes in 2023. It looks like things are back on track as a new, very short teaser has been released.

The UTA-owned agency, best known for its literary department, has created Curtis Brown Group Unscripted and Entertainment (Cbg U&e). Former Ymu agent Marta Atack has been hired to run the unit, which launches with several signings.

Cbg U&e will house clients from the entertainment, comedy, factual and digital spaces. At launch, they include Bradley Walsh, Richard E Grant, Sue Perkins, Zoe Ball, Carol Vorderman, Cat Deeley, London Hughes, Lenny Rush, Grayson Perry, Stacey Dooley, Asim Chaudhry, Layton Williams and Mae Martin.

Noel Fielding, along with comedy partner Julian Barratt, blasted onto the UK comedy scene with double act The Mighty Boosh, which found success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before making three series of what might be the most surreal, esoteric comedy ever broadcast on British television. All episodes were directed by Paul King, who went on to achieve national treasure status alongside Simon Farnaby for co-writing and directing the Paddington films and the recently released Wonka.

Fremantle has signed a first-look and development deal with U.K. production outfit Me+You Productions, the team behind Channel 4 drama Alice & Jack and BAFTA-award-winning series I Am….

The three-year deal, announced Wednesday, will see Fremantle become the first home for all of Me+You’s television projects, with the U.K. producer working closely with Fremantle’s global drama division and its international distribution team.

Fremantle and Me+You collaborated on Alice & Jack, the 2023 TV drama starring Andrea Riseborough and Domhnall Gleeson, which was co-produced with Groundswell Productions, De Maio Entertainment, Masterpiece and Channel 4. Fremantle also handled global sales for the series.

After spending decades in development hell, a live-action adaptation of the Neil Gaiman comic book series The Sandman actually made it into production and was released into the world as a Netflix series last August. (Read our review Here.) Season 2 of the show went into production earlier this year… but then had to be put on pause for a while due to the writers and actors strikes. With those strikes having come to an end, The Sandman season 2 has now resumed production. Netflix shared an image of Tom Sturridge and Mason Alexander Park on set, back in the roles of Dream and Desire, and that can be seen at the bottom of this article. Neil Gaiman also shared a statement, celebrating both the show being able to resume production and the 35th anniversary of the release of the first issue of Sandman.

Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is back in production on Season 2 following the Hollywood strikes, on the 35th anniversary of the original comic series.

Gaiman released a letter Wednesday announcing the production re-start for the Netflix series, along with a behind-the-scenes photo from the set featuring Tom Sturridge (Dream) and Mason Alexander Park (Desire). The Warner Bros. Television production is currently filming in London. You can see the photo below along with Gaiman’s letter.

In his letter, Gaiman recalled when he began writing The Sandman over 36 years ago when a storm trapped him and his family in their village and he penned the outline for the first eight issues of Sandman. Thirteen months later, the first issue of Sandman was released.

Written by Gulzar (Oscar-winner for “Slumdog Millionaire” song “Jai Ho”), “Masoom” was an adaptation of Erich Segal’s 1980 novel “Man, Woman and Child.” It followed a happily married couple and their two daughters whose lives are disrupted with the arrival of a boy who is the man’s son from an earlier affair. The cast included Naseeruddin Shah (“Taj: Divided by Blood”), Shabana Azmi (“Halo”), Jugal Hansraj (“Nri Wives”), Supriya Pathak (“Tabbar”), Saeed Jaffrey (“The Man Who Would Be King”) and Urmila Matondkar (“Rangeela”).
