Toussaint Raphaël Abessolo was born on November 2nd, 1981, in Libreville (Gabon), to Gabonese parents, Francine Y. Nguema, a secretary shorthand typist, and Serge C. Abessolo, an accountant. Toussaint moved to New-York City in 2004. In 2009, he enrolled in a 2 year conservatory acting program at William Esper Studio. Shortly after, he started by appearing in a series of small Off-off Broadway theater productions of plays and stage readings, followed by parts in short and feature-length independent films. In 2013, Toussaint caught the attention of Ira Sachs, who cast him in his well received Indie film "Love is strange" starring John Lithgow and Alfred Molina, in a scene opposite Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei. He is mostly known for the NBC prime time TV series "The Blacklist", HULU miniseries "Difficult people" and Sony Pictures' "The Last witch hunter" starring Vin Diesel.
