Shanik Hughes is the Mexico-born, American-based singer-songwriter. Her latest project puts the name of Mexico on high through her acoustic original "Ven a visitarme." Hughes draws from a deep well of education and experiences she generously collects and shares around the world. She studied at the Actors Workshop, TVI Actors Studio in Los Angeles and New York's Broadway Dance Center. She saturated herself in the style of Mexico at CasAzul Performing Arts, Ema Pulido's Dance, Theater and Singing Studio and Televisa's Art Education Center. The 2017 movie "We All Want Someone" marked Hughes' debut on the big screen, alongside actors Karla Souza and José María Yazpik. Hughes starred in popular telenovelas on the Televisa Network's "Libre to Love You" and "Today is to Love"; Univisión's "Rosario Tijeras;" and Telemundo's "Corazón Valiente" (Fearless Heart.) Hughes was also the host on TV shows such as "Hoy."The dramatic and relatable Hughes gained a huge following in 2010 when she was cast as the villain in the Telemundo hit reality TV show "Protagonistas." Her talent for live acting on the stage shined in the Broadway production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat;" Director Lorena Perezios' "Almost, Maine;" and "Kill Me Because I am Dying!" directed by David Palazuelos. Her voice graced the radio waves on the Radio Latino program "Mujeres y yo," and "Men," which ran on the digital station Cabino en vivo.
