Alain Ali Washnevsky, born in Iran and raised in Vienna, Austria, is an internationally working actor whose path to the screen has been anything but ordinary. After a successful career in real estate, he followed his lifelong passion for storytelling and moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to pursue acting full-time.
By 2014, Alain had become a finalist in the World Championship of Public Speaking, an early glimpse into the charisma and command he would later bring to his screen work. In 2015, he appeared in the Oscar-nominated short film Day One. Between 2015 and 2019, he booked over a dozen "guest stars" on US television, including Homeland, Scandal, The Rookie, Lucifer, 13 Reasons Why, and more. He also showcased his comedic range in Curb Your Enthusiasm and Roseanne.
Recently, Alain's career has expanded globally. He starred as a series regular in Netflix's Alexander: The Making of a God, followed by Tehran (Apple TV). In 2024, he filmed The Accountant 2 with Ben Affleck and took on major recurring roles in The Morning Show (opposite Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon) and The Terminal List: Dark Wolf (with Chris Pratt and Taylor Kitsch). Next up: The Agency (Paramount+), starring Michael Fassbender.
Alain's childhood in Vienna, the capital of classical music, fostered his love for opera and classical singing. He has performed in productions of Mozart's "Don Giovanni," "Cendrillon," and also sang the role of Don Alhambra in Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Gondoliers." He is fluent in German, English, Farsi, and conversational in French. Alain is a spiritual, well-traveled, and culturally rich artist who loves being married to his wife Morgan.
