Text: Alon Shtruzman is the Co-CEO of 5X Media, an international production, distribution and talent management company with offices in Los Angeles and Madrid. Prior to that he was the founder and CEO of global studio and distribution company Keshet International.
Shtruzman is a seasoned media executive and considered one of the founders of Israel's multi-channel industry. In the early 1990's, Shtruzman joined Israel's Cable Programming (ICP), the consortium established by local cable providers to jointly acquire and produce content. There, he was instrumental in building the country's first narrow cast/cable channels. In 1995, after serving as Creative Director and Head of Original Production for ICP, he joined the founding team of Israel's first independent channel producer, Noga Communication. After spending several years abroad developing Noga's international business, Shtruzman returned to Israel and founded the country's first interactive TV studio, Zoe Interactive. In 2004, Shtruzman returned to ICP, this time as Managing Director followed by his appointments as the first VP content of the merged cable companies under the brand HOT. During this term, he introduced Israel's pioneering VOD service, while commissioning a number of successful shows and feature films, including Someone to Run With, The Arbitrator and the acclaimed show In Treatment, which was sold to HBO and became the first Israeli drama series which was remade in the US. In 2007, Shtruzman tapped into the international market, serving in a number of senior positions with News Corp.'s Fox International Channels. Shtruzman was featured in Variety's 2013 Dealmakers Impact Report for his contribution to the international expansion of Keshet International, including establishing outposts around the world.
