Pure Flix/Quality Flix is screening the thriller Welcome To Mercy for Afm buyers, alongside five new films including God’s Not Dead: A Light In Darkness, and Little Women.

The creative and tireless team at Screamfest has always done an amazing job of celebrating the horror genre's present while honoring its past, and their second wave of programming certainly confirms this notion, as this year's Hollywood-based festival will include anniversary screenings of Bride of Chucky and The Serpent and the Rainbow, in addition to special screenings of Aliens and The Terminator to commemorate Gale Anne Hurd being presented with a Career Achievement Award.

"You must control... you almost killed your daughter." IFC Midnight has debuted the first official trailer for an indie possession horror titled Welcome to Mercy, from filmmaker Tommy Bertelsen. The story follows a single mother named Madaline who begins to experience symptoms of the stigmata, so she seeks the help of a local priest and nun to help her understand what is seen and unseen, and hopefully avoid becoming the new antichrist. She ends up at a remote covenant. Kristen Ruhlin stars and wrote the screenplay for this indie horror. It also features Lily Newmark, Eva Ariel Binder, Eileen Davies, Victoria Sokolova, Danis Grube, Toms Liepajnieks, Sophia Massa, and Ieva Seglina. Possession films are getting more and more redundant, but this looks like it gets super intense once she meets up with these relentless nuns. Pure Flix, the faith-based production company responsible for God's Not Dead, has acquired the international distribution rights to Welcome to Mercy from the producers of Scream and The Others.

Pure Flix, which launched its own U.S. theatrical distribution arm, nabbed the feature directed by Tommy Bertelsen (Ed Wood), and which stars Kristen Ruhlin, Eileen Davies, Lily Newmark and Toms Liepajnieks. Founded in 2005 by Michael Scott, David A.R. White, Russell Wolfe and Elizabeth Travis, Pure Flix is an indie Christian movie production and distribution studio.

The film's producers are in talks on a domestic distribution deal to be announced ...
