Nelson J.J. Flores
- Cinematographer
- Camera and Electrical Department
Born and raised in Queens, New York Nelson JJ Flores has made a fresh and prominent start to his growing career as a Cinematographer. Obtaining a Master's degree from the New York Film Academy he's best known for his work with fellow NYFA alumni directors Oliver Granö (When Darkness Falls, 2018) and Dicle Ozcer (Big Break, 2019)
He began his career working with local commercials and numerous amounts of short films that have gone to film festivals within the Los Angeles area and internationally. Much of his work is exemplified through his photography. A sense of voyeurism and documentation is implicated, but it's the delicate touch of empathetic humanity that is showcased within his work is what makes Nelson a respected Cinematographer.
When he isn't working Nelson does his best to frequently travel to gather inspiration, research new cooking techniques and spend time with his family.
In 2018 Nelson was nominated for Best Cinematography for his work on When Darkness Falls at the Top Indie Film, June Awards. His most recent film Big Break hopes to make a huge festival run this year in 2020.
