Howard Casner is the author of eight screenplays, one teleplay, and the book Rantings and Ravings of a Screenplay Reader. His latest screenplay The Last Tree Standing Motel made finalists in the London Film Awards Screenplay Competition and Glendale Film Festival Competition; and semi-finalist in All Access, Page and Austin. His screenplay Rough Trade is a semi-finalist in the 2007 Extreme Screenplay Competition; a quarter finalist in the 2007 Screenwritingexpo Competition; a quarter-finalist in the 2009 Champion Screenwriting Competition; and a semifinalist in the Outfest Writer's Lab. My screenplays Rough Trade and Welcome to L.A. both made the top twelve in the 2011 Great Gay Screenplay Competition (Welcome to L.A. ultimately made the top five). In 2013, Mel and the Adventures of Sad Man made the second round of the Outfest Screenwriting Lab. In 2008 I wrote a straight to DVD, work for hire movie for Regent Entertainment. My screenplay Revelation is a finalist in the 2007 Screenplay Festival Competition.
