Leo Tabosa

Film Director, Scriptwriter, Producer and Writer. He is graduated in History and Journalism from the Universidade Católica de Pernambuco - Unicap. He has a Specialization Degree in "História Regional do Brasil: Nordeste" and is currently a Master's Student in the Postgraduate Program in the Indústrias Criativas at Unicap. He is a partner-director of Pontilhado Cinematográfico e Produções Culturais e Artísticas LTDA, as well as presently acting as Cultural Manager of the Universidade Católica de Pernambuco. He is a member of the Academia Brasileira de Cinema e Artes Audiovisuais. He is also the Creator, General and Artistic Director of "Cine Jardim" (Belo Jardim - Pernambuco - Brazil) and "Mostra Curta Vazantes: Cinema em Comunidade" (Aracoiaba - Ceará - Brazil). Among his works as Director and Screenwriter, the following documentaries are highlighted: "Portraits" (2010), "Shark" (2013) and "Vanilla" (2017), as well as an animated film named: "The Adventures of the Dotted Boy" (2016) and still some fiction films, such as: "New York" (2018), "Marie" (2019), "Alto do Céu" (2023) and "Dinho" (2023). All of these productions combined, have participated in more than 100 national and international festivals such as: "Festival de Brasília", "Festival de Gramado", "Kinoforum", "Cine Ceará", "Festival de Cinema de Málaga" - Spain, "Festival Internacional do Novo Cinema Latino-Americano de Havana" - Cuba, "Queer Porto" - Portugal, "Festival Internacional de Cinema de Guadalajara" - Mexico. In addition, the collected productions have also won more than 50 awards from the Official Jury, Critics and the Public, including several "Kikitos", "Grande Prêmio Canal Brasil", "Troféu Mucuripe" and "Prêmio Guarani de Cinema Brasileiro". He has also published some books, such as: "Mandacaru Selvagem", "As aventuras do Menino Pontilhado", "Auto de Natal de Barro: o Menino e o Tambor" and "as aventuras do menino pontilhado: o segredo da professora velha, branca e, geometricamente, mal desenhada".
