Born and raised in Canandaigua, NY; Alex moved to Manhattan at 18 years old to attend the School of Visual Arts. After one year, he moved back to the small lake town in upstate New York where he directed and filmed live performances for artists such as Snoop Dogg, Tim McGraw, Demi Lovato, Phish and more.
He continued his education at Syracuse University while producing several short and feature films, specifically in the horror genre. Alex also has experience in film distribution, having worked the Berlinale Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival in 2015. His short film "What Comes From Within," which he produced, directed, wrote, edited, and starred, garnered several accolades; including "Best Horror Film" at the Hollywood International Short Film Festival and secured financing for his debut feature film, "Sting." In addition to his passion for filmmaking, Alex is also an entertainment journalist. His work can be read in Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Men's Health, Elle, Good Housekeeping, Huffington Post, Harper's Bazaar, Entertainment Voice, and more.
