With the cameras rolling for close to a couple of months now, the Game Of Thrones prequel A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms is most definitely underway ahead of its arrival on our screens next year. And following on from June's casting flurry, another bunch of additions have been announced, with Edward Ashley, Henry Ashton, Daniel Monks, Shaun Thomas, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and Danny Webb all reporting for duty down Westeros way.
Those new arrivals join stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as his squire, Egg.
As you'll no doubt know by this point, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms is set roughly 100 years before the events of the parent show (and 100 years after the dragon-clashing conflicts of House Of The Dragon), and follows the two unlikely heroes as they wander the land. The official synopsis adds: "Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne,...

HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has announced seven more actors and the roles they’ll play in the Game of Thrones prequel / House of the Dragon sequel.
The casting news includes an actor playing Daeron Targaryen. That’s a familiar name — though not a familiar face — to House of the Dragon fans. But as is often the case in George R.R. Martin’s fantasy world, there is more than one Daeron Targaryen, and this is not the same Daeron as the one in House of the Dragon.
The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Daeron will be played by Henry Ashton (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder). This Daeron, also called Daeron the Drunken, is the eldest son of King Maekar I Targaryen and is known for having prophetic dreams.
In Dragon, Daeron is King Viserys and Alicent Hightower’s fourth child, who has been kept offscreen in the series,...

Edward Ashley, Matt Gavan, Callum Turner and Anthony Boyle in “Masters of the Air,” now streaming on Apple TV+. With Masters of the Air, Tom Hanks — as a producer — completes the World War II trilogy he began with co-producer Steven Spielberg. Hanks said that the extraordinary thing about Masters of the Air is not just that it’s based on a true story, but that the miniseries actually recreates parts of the story in vivid, painstaking detail. (Click on the email below to hear Tom Hanks) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Tom_Hanks_-Masters_of_-the_-Air_.mp3 Masters of the Air is currently streaming on Apple TV+.

Masters of the Air is finally here and the fans of The Pacific and Band of Brothers are going crazy over the masterfully created World War II series. Produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, the Apple TV+ series revolves around the pilots of bomber planes in the 100th Bomb Group as they fight with everything they have to protect the world from Nazis. Based on a novel by Donald L. Miller titled Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany, the series is adapted for television by John Shiban and John Orloff, it feels like the third entry in the World War II shows by Spielberg and Hanks. Masters of the Air is genuinely one of the best series I have seen in many years, check out my review of the complete series here.

“The Pellet With The Poison”
By Raymond Benson
Danny Kaye was not only a brilliant triple-threat (actor/singer/dancer), but he was a stand-up comic, an expert chef, a writer, a pilot, a baseball enthusiast, a notable philanthropist, a Unicef ambassador, and an honorary member of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Pediatrics (!). His decades-long career on stage, in film, and on television speaks for itself, but one of his most beloved screen vehicles was The Court Jester, a 1956 picture that was shockingly ignored at the Oscars that year.
Even more disturbing is the fact that it was allegedly the most expensive comedy film ever produced up to that time and was a box office failure (perhaps that’s the reason there was no Oscar love). Nevertheless, time has been extremely kind to the movie through revivals and television broadcasts.

Both epic in scale and intimate in design, The King shows the struggle of a young king – who is fully embodied by Timothée Chalamet, who yet again proves he’s the best young talent Hollywood has to offer.
The brooding slow burn that is The King sets a pace from the very beginning that shows us this isn’t your typical historical epic. Instead of this being another action packed medieval tale, The King takes a slower, deeper look at the life and hardships of a king. It also takes a hard deep look at the reality of war and the cost of peace.

[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for “The Terror” Episode 9, “The C, the C, the Open C.”]
What does it sound like to lose a connection to your own humanity?
For “The Terror,” the answer came in the form of a sunlit meal around a dining table that was ordinary in every way but one. A faction of expedition survivors, thrust under the murky leadership of the enigmatic Cornelius Hickey, gather to survive by consuming one of their deceased mates.
“The scene where they’re all around the table for the first time eating human flesh, we didn’t score it,” executive producer and co-showrunner David Kajganich told IndieWire. “And when we got to the mix stage and saw that there were quite a lot of emphatic chewing sounds in the temp mix, we were like, ‘No, no, no, no, no. Take all of that out. We’re not fetishizing this moment. We’re just observing it.

They don’t make ’em like this any more, and the original TV spots for James Gray’s accurate retelling of history almost didn’t know how to sell it. Charlie Hunnam spends his life trying to solve a riddle of the Peruvian rainforest, in between fighting in WW1 and dealing with class prejudice. Yup, one could say the picture was filmed in a ‘classic’ style . . . can a show like that find an audience these days?

James Gray is a filmmaker who often seems to wind up having the worst luck. Whether it’s with a distributor or with his star acting up, Gray can’t seem to catch a break once his film is in the can. This time around, Brad Pitt and Plan B funded The Lost City of Z, with Amazon Studios picking it up for distribution. Aside from an initial 2016 release being pushed to this year, there weren’t any real hiccups. After premiering to a strong reception last year at The New York Film Festival, it hits theaters this week, hoping to finally give Gray the larger platform that he so deserves. The film, based on the book by David Grann, is a period piece about one explorer’s obsession. That individual is none other than British explorer Colonel Percival Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam). Percy Fawcett has long explored the Amazon, but...

Director James Gray has made a number of superlative films. Films such as We Own the Night, Two Lovers and 2013’s under-seen classic The Immigrant each have Gray’s trademark of a startlingly assured hand. His latest film, which had its European premiere in London this evening, is another exploration of human identity albeit in a far more adventurous form.
The premiere Of The Lost City Of Z was held at The British Museum in London and was attended by actors Charlie Hunnam, Sienna Miller, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Edward Ashley, Harry Melling, Tom Mulheron, and director James Gray.

That’s quite a cast, and with cinematographer Darius Khondji (who created some of this writer’s most cherished images in The City of Lost Children) audiences are in for a treat.

Pattinson told People at The Lost City of Z premiere, Saturday, that he and his castmates had lived on as little as one meal a day while portraying 1920s adventurers who disappeared into the Brazilian jungle while searching for the infamous City of Z.

Edward Ashley ("In The Heart Of The Sea") has joined the cast of James Gray's historical adventure "The Lost City of Z" which also stars Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller, Tom Holland and Charlie Hunnam.
An adaptation of David Grann's book, Hunnam plays a man who headed into the Amazon on a mapping quest in 1925. There, suffering from a nasty case of malaria, he claimed to have discovered a mythical city.
Roundly mocked by his peers, Fawcett gathered up his son and one other companion and headed back into the jungle to prove his point. They all disappeared.
Ashley will play Arthur Manley, a young corporal who accompanied Fawcett on his apparently doomed expedition. Filming is now underway in Northern Ireland and Colombia ahead of a 2016 release.

Recently keeping afloat in Ron Howard's In The Heart Of The Sea, Edward Ashley will be following his shipmate Tom Holland to his next project. He's just joined James Gray's historical adventure The Lost City Of Z. Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller and Charlie Hunnam are also aboard. The adaptation of David Grann’s book has been in development for a while, but finally locked down its main cast earlier this year. Hunnam is playing Percy Fawcett, who headed into the Amazon on a mapping quest in 1925.There, suffering from a nasty case of malaria, he claimed to have discovered a mythical city he called the Lost City of Z. When his adventurer peers roundly mocked the idea as a fantasy or fraud, Fawcett gathered up his son and one other companion and headed back into the jungle to prove his point. And that’s the last anyone saw of all three.
