Jonathan Scherck
- Actor
Jonathan Scherck is an American actor, born in Woburn, Massachusetts. His mother was a schoolteacher, and his father was an officer in the US Air Force. As a teenager in northern California, he was intrigued by his high school drama club classmates but instead competed in various speech contests. He graduated from Georgetown University in 1997 before serving in the US Navy.
Following his service in the military, Jonathan worked in Washington, DC as an intelligence analyst. In his free time, he began writing screenplays, some based on his work as an analyst. In 2009, disillusioned with the ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, he and his family relocated to Los Angeles where he wound up working for several years as a caseworker at a homeless services nonprofit.
As pandemic lockdowns lifted in early 2022, Jonathan enrolled in an acting class in Hollywood. With the help of some classmates, he booked his first commercial which was soon followed by a theatrical role in a Chapman University short film. Months later, "The Dick Andy Show", shot in Tallahassee in December 2022 and produced by Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts, was his first lead acting role.
After the devastating Eaton Fire in Altadena, California in January 2025, Jonathan relocated to Long Beach. He lives there today working as an actor whenever possible while his two grown daughters (born 2005 and 2006, from a previous marriage) continue to make their way in the world.
