Amazon has opted to cancel the YA drama after a single season, Deadline reports.

The news comes less than three months after its May 28 bow on the streamer.

"In the summer after their senior year, 47 graduates participate in the annual Panic competition," reads the logline. 

"Winning Panic with a cash prize of $50,000 will allow them to escape their small Texas town of Carp. After the rules change, however, they must decide what risks they will take in order to escape their home town."

The cast included Olivia Welch, Mike Faist, Jessica Sula, Ray Nicholson, Camron Jones, and Enrique Murciano.

The series was pushed heavily by Amazon, launching with a three-part companion "novella" on Audible, but the series failed to garner much traction.

Previous YA offering The Wilds took off like a lightning bolt for the streamer and has since been renewed for a second season.

Amazon Prime Video has canceled the young adult drama “Panic,” TheWrap has confirmed.

The series, which premiered its 10-episode first season on the streaming service back in May, came from writer and creator Lauren Oliver, who adapted the series from her own bestselling novel.

The “Hunger Games”-esque drama was set a small Texas town where every summer the graduating seniors compete in a series of challenges — winner take all — which they believe is their one and only chance to escape their circumstances and make their lives better.

Cast on the series included Olivia Welc, Mike Faist, Jessica Sula, Camron Jones, Ray Nicholson and Enrique Murciano.

In addition to Oliver, executive producers on the drama included Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Adam Schroeder. Lynley Bird and Alyssa Altman served as co-executive producers on the Amazon Studios series.

Many fans of Lauren Oliver’s young adult novel “Panic,” following high school seniors who take part in the dangerous eponymous game every year with hopes of winning thousands of dollars to help set up their adult lives, were disappointed when that novel was not turned into a multi-book series, as is common in the genre. Amazon Prime Video has released a new trailer for its new young adult thriller series, Panic, set to premiere May 28th.

The show is based on Lauren Oliver’s bestselling novel of the same name, and is set in a small Texas town where each summer, high school graduates compete in a series of intense challenges, believing that winning the competition is the only way to escape their dead-end home. After some changes are made to the competition, however, the game grows increasingly dangerous, but the prize money also goes up.

What will a person do to change their life? It’s a fascinating thought at the center of Lauren Oliver’s “Panic.” The Amazon adaptation of her bestselling novel covers events surrounding an increasingly dangerous quest for renewal.
