The popular HBO teen drama, which was created by Sam Levinson and is based on the 2012 Israeli miniseries of the same name, is set in the fictional East Highland, California and follows the trials and tribulation of teenage addict Rue (Zendaya) as well as the classmates and adults in her orbit. The Madness starring Colman Domingo is now streaming on Netflix! I watched all eight episodes of the Netflix original miniseries, and it's confusing! There are a lot of misdirections in this one, so I shared how exactly all the main storylines conclude in the season finale, "No More Madness."

The series from Stephen Belber begins when Muncie Daniels, played by Domingo, takes a break from his stressful life in Philadelphia as a TV host to write his book in the Poconos. There, Muncie witnesses a murder. Then, his life quickly begins to unravel as someone tries to pin the murder on him.

That's where things begin, but they do not stay there. It's quite the ride as Muncie tries to prove his innocence and get to the bottom of the mystery. Doing so, requires Muncie to find Mark Simon's killer and then convince the authorities to do something about it.

Netflix’s eight-episode miniseries The Madness, created by playwright Stephen Belber, begins with Muncie Daniels (Colman Domingo) escaping the hustle and bustle of life as a high-profile media pundit to spend some time out in the Poconos. His plans for a relaxing getaway quickly evaporate when the man staying in the cabin next door turns up dead. Muncie becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation, and he quickly finds himself on the run, desperately trying to figure out why he’s being framed, and by whom.

The Madness is at its most enjoyable when it’s in full Fugitive mode, with its protagonist trying to unravel a complex criminal conspiracy. The situation gets even more complicated when the dead man is revealed to be a member of a neo-Nazi group with connections to some seriously powerful people. From that point on, every white face becomes a potential threat to Muncie.

For 109 episodes, Colman Domingo played the role of Victor Strand on Fear the Walking Dead. That show came to an end last year, and Domingo has moved on with The Madness, a Netflix series that the streamer’s scripted series vice president Peter Friedlander has described as “a fresh take on the conspiracy thriller” that will turn “the genre on its head with its multilayered characters, propulsive action and swift pace.” I was fortunate enough to talk to star Domingo about his work as Muncie Daniels on the show, a complex role that really pushes him to his limits. In the teaser for his upcoming Netflix political thriller series, all eight episodes premiering Nov. 28 on the streamer, the Academy Award nominee stars as political consultant-turned-tv pundit Muncie Daniels, who may have lost his way in life.

“I’m telling you, it was a setup. Now, I’m being questioned. I got a bullseye on my back. Do you see what they’re doing to me?” says Domingo in a voiceover as he walks into the frame of a surveillance camera. “I feel like I can’t leave. They are gonna pin all this on you.”

Created by Stephen Belber, The Madness follows Muncie on a work sabbatical in the Poconos to write the great American novel, where he finds himself the only witness to the murder of a well-known white supremacist.

Colman Domingo just might be the most prolific man in Hollywood.

Just on the TV side alone, Domingo is currently in production on Netflix’s “The Four Seasons” reimagining, and now the trailer for his other Netflix series “The Madness” has been released. Domingo sure knows how to stay busy.

The actor plays Muncie Daniels, a political consultant-turned-tv pundit who takes a work sabbatical to write the next great American novel. While in the Poconos on his writing retreat, though, Muncie finds himself as the only witness to the murder of a well-known white supremacist, and now he’s being framed for the crime.

Per the official synopsis, “Muncie is forced to go on the run in a desperate fight to clear his name and unravel a global conspiracy before time runs out. Along the way he’ll reconnect with his family, find unlikely allies, and fight against disinformation in a post-truth age.

Emmy winner Colman Domingo isn't quite done collaborating with Netflix just yet. After starring in the 2023 Netflix biographical drama film Rustin, Domingo is set to star in a new conspiracy thriller series for the streamer called The Madness. It's slated to be released this Thanksgiving, so make sure to add this show to your watchlist!

The Madness is an upcoming Netflix limited series created by Stephen Belber. Belber also serves as co-showrunner with executive producer VJ Boyd. Clément Virgo is signed on as the director and is an executive producer as well. Other executive producers include Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kaitlin Dahill. Additionally, Chernin Entertainment is the production company behind the eight-episode series.

In The Madness, Domingo takes on the role of media pundit Muncie Daniels, who finds himself having to fight for his life and prove his innocence after he accidentally stumbles upon a murder in the woods of the Poconos mountains.

The 54-year-old actor is set to star in The Madness as media pundit Muncie Daniels, who “must fight for his innocence and his life after he stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos woods. “Everything about this conspiracy thriller excited me,” he told Tudum. “It was a unique protagonist, one that I had never seen or experienced. Someone who has very centrist beliefs, and now they’re being thrust into the world to really hard-core believe in something and to reexamine the people that they believed were possible enemies.

Earlier today, we shared the news that It’s What’s Inside, a horror film executive produced by Fear the Walking Dead cast member Colman Domingo, is set to be released through the Netflix streaming service on October 4th. Now Netflix has announced the premiere date for another of their collaborations with Domingo, a thriller series called The Madness! This one will be coming along just under two months after the release of It’s What’s Inside, as all eight episodes of The Madness will be available to watch on Netflix as of November 28th. What You Wish For has a well-executed, grotesque premise that comments on the nature of the upper class. Nick Stahl and Tamsin Topolski, as well as the rest of the cast, portray incredibly tense group dynamics. What You Wish For is slightly open-ended, leaving some plot holes unanswered.

Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, has acquired North American rights to “What You Wish For,” a new suspense-horror film written and directed by Nicholas Tomnay.

The film stars Nick Stahl (Showtime’s “Let the Right One In”) and had its world premiere at Fantasia Festival. Tamsin Topolski (“Slow Horses”) and Randy Vasquez (“America Has Fallen: Election Day”) also star. Magnet plans to release the film this summer.
