Euphoria star Colman Domingo's new Netflix conspiracy series has become a global hit. Following his breakout on Broadway, the actor transitioned to television with early roles in various incarnations of Law & Order, though his big television breakout came as Victor Strand in AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. However, it was Domingo's role in Euphoria as Rue's sponsor and a recovering drug addict, Ali, that earned him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
Though he's perhaps better known for his roles on television, Domingo has appeared in many movies, such as Lincoln, Selma, If Beale Street Could Talk, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Zola, The Color Purple, and Sing Sing. However, after his Emmy win, it was his performance as the titular civil rights activist in the Netflix film Rustin that earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. This has been Colman Domingo’s year. The Euphoria star received a best actor Oscar nomination — his first-ever — for his portrayal of civil rights hero Bayard Rustin in Rustin, produced by Barack and Michelle Obama. He’s tracking to land another best actor nod for his acclaimed drama Sing Sing, based on a real-life prison theater program; and his eight-episode conspiracy thriller series The Madness, his first as a leading man, dropped Thanksgiving Day on his 55th birthday.
In The Madness, Domingo plays the charming Muncie Daniels, a CNN pundit and Philadelphia native who stumbles upon a murder and is blamed for it. On the wild ride to clear his name — of killing a white supremacist, at that — Muncie must first rein in his ego and make personal amends with his estranged wife Elena (Marsha Stephanie Blake), teenage son Demetrius (Thaddeus J. Rotten Tomatoes has had a lukewarm response to a new show featuring one of the stars of Euphoria. The popular HBO teen drama, which was created by Sam Levinson and is based on the 2012 Israeli miniseries of the same name, is set in the fictional East Highland, California and follows the trials and tribulation of teenage addict Rue (Zendaya) as well as the classmates and adults in her orbit. The show debuted with season 1 in 2019, followed by season 2 in 2022. The upcoming season 3 was officially renewed in February 2022.
The Euphoria cast features a robust ensemble bringing the various characters in and around the high school to life. Many of these stars have gone on to other major projects, including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer. However, not all of these projects are well-received on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix's 2024 miniseries The Madness sees actor Colman Domingo embarking on a globe-trotting thriller and encountering a rich cast of characters along the way. The show follows a man accused of murdering a white supremacist after discovering his body deep in the Poconos woods. The trailer for The Madness teases a tense and exciting adventure centered around a layered conspiracy with several players just waiting to be unraveled.

As another winds down, it's always a good idea to take a spin on Netflix and see what you missed. That's exactly what I did for November 2024. And, I have to say, there were some really good and underrated shows that most Netflix viewers probably missed.
No, I'm not talking about the biggest shows. Everyone knows Outer Banks season 4, Cobra Kai season 6 part 2, and Arcane season 2 premiered in November. Those shows are all over the Netflix Top 10! Everyone was talking about those shows before the new seasons came out. Even A Man on the Inside, the new Netflix original series from Michael Schur and starring Ted Danson, was more hyped up than the shows we picked for this list.
Let's get the list started with a sneaky good series that needs to return for a new season soon, The Cage!

Colman Domingo delivers a modern-day “The Fugitive”-style paranoid thriller with Netflix’s new limited series “The Madness.” The “Rustin” and “Euphoria” star takes on the role of Muncie Daniels, a lauded CNN commentator who finds his spotlight turned against him when he stumbles onto the dead body of a high-profile white supremacist and winds up getting framed for the crime. With mysterious, seemingly ultra-powerful forces aligning against him, Muncie has to uncover the truth behind the convoluted web of money, politics and murder that led him there.
The eight-episode series surrounds Domingo with an ensemble full of familiar actors, so if you’re wondering where you’ve seen them before, here’s a handy guide to the cast and characters of “The Madness.”

Like the paranoid notions that drive their protagonists, conspiracy thrillers are constantly shifting. The genre is remarkably malleable; the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s produced some of the form’s best — “The Manchurian Candidate,” “Three Days of the Condor,” “Blow Out” — each of which iterated on the hallmarks of the form. A good political thriller is often decidedly of the moment, with enough meat on its bones to become timeless as it ages, and there’s certainly no shortage of material to draw on, given our current political climate.
The arrival of Netflix’s “The Madness” couldn’t be more timely if it tried. Anchored by Colman Domingo, the 8-episode limited series created by Stephen Belber and co-showrun with VJ Boyd kicks off its premise in pretty short order: When media pundit Muncie Daniels (Domingo) becomes the prime suspect in the murder case of a notable white supremacist in the Poconos woods,...

The Madness starring Colman Domingo is now streaming on Netflix! I watched all eight episodes of the Netflix original miniseries, and it's confusing! There are a lot of misdirections in this one, so I shared how exactly all the main storylines conclude in the season finale, "No More Madness."
The series from Stephen Belber begins when Muncie Daniels, played by Domingo, takes a break from his stressful life in Philadelphia as a TV host to write his book in the Poconos. There, Muncie witnesses a murder. Then, his life quickly begins to unravel as someone tries to pin the murder on him.
That's where things begin, but they do not stay there. It's quite the ride as Muncie tries to prove his innocence and get to the bottom of the mystery. Doing so, requires Muncie to find Mark Simon's killer and then convince the authorities to do something about it.

Netflix’s eight-episode miniseries The Madness, created by playwright Stephen Belber, begins with Muncie Daniels (Colman Domingo) escaping the hustle and bustle of life as a high-profile media pundit to spend some time out in the Poconos. His plans for a relaxing getaway quickly evaporate when the man staying in the cabin next door turns up dead. Muncie becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation, and he quickly finds himself on the run, desperately trying to figure out why he’s being framed, and by whom.
The Madness is at its most enjoyable when it’s in full Fugitive mode, with its protagonist trying to unravel a complex criminal conspiracy. The situation gets even more complicated when the dead man is revealed to be a member of a neo-Nazi group with connections to some seriously powerful people. From that point on, every white face becomes a potential threat to Muncie.

Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo is getting his much-deserved first TV lead role in “The Madness,” a limited series coming to Netflix later this month. On Thursday, the streaming service released a trailer for the political thriller, which is likely to be Netflix’s big hit of Thanksgiving weekend.
Domingo stars as Muncie Daniels, a former activist who has traded making a difference in the world for the comfortable life of a TV pundit. While he’s staying at a cabin in the Pennsylvania woods, he witnesses the murder of a notorious white supremacist, whose assassins come after him, too, but he escapes. The murder gets pinned on him, though. As he fights to clear his name, he unravels a global conspiracy and reconnects with what’s important in his life: his family, and the truth.

Colman Domingo plays a media pundit who stumbles on a murder he fears he’s being framed for in the trailer for The Madness, the upcoming conspiracy thriller from Netflix, that dropped on Monday.
“I got a bull’s eye on my back,” a paranoid Domingo, in the role of Muncie Daniels, says at one point in the fast-paced teaser after he visits a murder scene deep in the woods of the Poconos and finds he’s the only witness to a crime.
As the walls close in and he fears a set-up to make him take the fall, Daniels strives to reconnect with his estranged family — and his lost ideals — in order to clear his name. The eight-episode thriller, with the Emmy winner in the starring role, is set to bow on Netflix Nov. 28.
The ensemble cast for The Madness includes Marsha Stephanie Blake, Gabrielle Graham, John Ortiz, Tamsin Topolski and Thaddeus J.

As Emmy Award winner Colman Domingo heads toward his second consecutive Best Actor Oscar nomination, the “Sing Sing” star will likely dominate the holiday season Netflix charts with “The Madness.” The drama series with a juicy premise debuted its first teaser on Monday, one month before its streaming debut.
Domingo, an Oscar nominee this year for Netflix’s “Rustin” and an expected contender in 2025 for the A24 prison drama, stars as Mncie Daniels on the series “a political consultant-turned-tv pundit who may have lost his way in life.”

What You Wish For has a well-executed, grotesque premise that comments on the nature of the upper class. Nick Stahl and Tamsin Topolski, as well as the rest of the cast, portray incredibly tense group dynamics. What You Wish For is slightly open-ended, leaving some plot holes unanswered.
Nicholas Tomnays What You Wish For is a thriller from which one cannot look away, even if the overall moral of the story falls just short of flawless. The story follows Ryan (Nick Stahl), a down-on-his-luck chef who travels to South America to meet up with his former roommate Jack (Brian Groh) and escape threats due to his gambling debts. Jack, whom Ryan hasnt seen in a decade, has everything Ryan could want. However, things take a dark turn when Jack dies and Ryan assumes Jacks identity, only to discover an ugly truth about Jacks successful career.

Few big new studio wide releases, yes, but Viggo Mortensen’s latest is on 700 screens, plus limited openings for Chris Wilcha’s Flipside, Judd Apatow EP, and Spanish animated, Oscar-nominated Robot Dreams from Neon. Bleecker Street’s family drama Ezra and IFC Films’ arthouse slasher In A Violent Nature are technically wide but both well under 1,500 screens.
Viggo Mortensen directed, wrote and stars in Western The Dead Don’t Hurt presented by Shout! Studios on 730 screens. The story of star-crossed lovers on the western U.S. frontier in the 1860s sees Vivienne Le Coudy (Vicky Krieps), a fiercely independent woman, settle in Nevada with Danish immigrant Holger Olsen (Mortensen). But the outbreak of the Civil War separates them as Olsen goes to fight with the Union army, leaving Vivienne alone in a town full of corrupt officials. Premiered in Toronto, see Deadline review. It’s Mortensen’s second outing behind the camera since 2020’s Falling.

Who among us hasn’t secretly yearned for someone else’s life? Whether it’s a famous celebrity or just a well-to-do friend, coveting someone else’s seemingly perfect life is commonplace.
The concept takes a dark twist in writer/director Nicholas Tomnay’s feature, What You Wish For. And while the title may eschew the first few words of the well-known saying, the missing words from the warning loom large over the film.
The film begins as protagonist Ryan (Nick Stahl) steps out of the airport in an unnamed South American location. He’s greeted by a professional driver who promptly delivers him to an empty, isolated villa.
It’s luxurious, opulent, and very, very rich feeling. These are all things that are completely unfamiliar to Ryan.

"A bad dish from you and your life will end." Magnolia Pictures has revealed the official trailer for What You Wish For, an indie thriller from filmmaker Nicholas Tomnay, a follow-up to his first film The Perfect Host. This new one premiered at many genre fests: Fantasia, Fantastic Fest, FrightFest, A Night of Horror, Grimmfest, Celluloid Screams, and Screamfest previously before its upcoming release in theaters this May during the start of the summer. A down-on-his-luck chef with gambling problems flees to a Latin American villa, where he assumes the identity of another skilled chef. "A Hitchcockian, edge-of-your-seat descent into escalating moral compromise with generous servings of dark humour, shock, and surprise." The title is an obvious riff on the "be careful what you wish for" idiom, as the full synopsis hints that he "soon discovers just what Jack's been doing to maintain the lifestyle he so desperately craved." Uh oh.

Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, has acquired North American rights to “What You Wish For,” a new suspense-horror film written and directed by Nicholas Tomnay.
The film stars Nick Stahl (Showtime’s “Let the Right One In”) and had its world premiere at Fantasia Festival. Tamsin Topolski (“Slow Horses”) and Randy Vasquez (“America Has Fallen: Election Day”) also star. Magnet plans to release the film this summer. Tomnay previously co-wrote and directed “The Perfect Host,” which starred David Hyde Pierce.
In “What You Wish For,” Stahl plays Ryan, a talented chef whose crushing gambling problems prompts him to leave town in a hurry for the safe haven of an unnamed Latin American country. There, his friend Jack (Brian Groh), a more prestigious chef with his own unique troubles, welcomes him into his home. Ryan has no idea how Jack’s able to afford his extravagant lifestyle, and...

Helen wants to please. She is driven by a seemingly fathomless pit of toxic positivity that, on a surface level may seem benign but once the veneer cracks exposes deep-seated hurt and rather unhealthy coping mechanisms. I’m A Good Person, directed by Tamsin Topolski, is a wonderfully dark dive into one woman’s journey to find love and connection as she navigates the cruel world we live in always looking on the bright side of life. Topolski found herself immediately drawn to the acerbic and unconventional script written by Ross O’Donnellan, who stars alongside Laure Stockley and brings the film’s vile male antagonist to punchable life. The world crafted in I’m a Good Person reflects a stark and almost bare existence which highlights the noxiousness of the relationship Helen has tied herself to and evocatively explores what happens when even the meekest of us are pushed to breaking point.

The monkey's paw delivers in Nicholas Tomnay's "What You Wish For," a culinary chiller with strange and dangerous cravings. It's a Hitchcockian take on one-percenter conspiracies and ravenous appetites that cares more about characters caught hosting a unique dinner party experience. One man's cursed profession is another man's opportunity to start over, as Tomnay keys into how desperation can excuse even the most glaringly not-okay moral dilemmas. "What You Wish For" is a whodunit with sharp teeth and precise knife skills — except you already know who "dun it," and tension exists as the perpetrators try not to get caught.
Nick Stahl stars as hotel chain chef Ryan, who reunites with culinary school roommate Jack (Brian Groh) in the jungles of Latin America before his next assignment. Jack has been traveling the world as a private chef for years, padding his bank account with each high-end, well-paying feast. Ryan has been landlocked in America,...

Scottish thriller Guilt is back for the third and final chapter in the McCall Brothers trilogy. Neil Forsyth’s fiendishly plotted drama all began when Max and Jake – a ruthless lawyer who’d climbed his way out of his working class Leith upbringing to wealth and status, and his vinyl-loving record shop slacker sibling – were flung together when they tried to cover up an accidental hit-and-run. So began a complex and gripping story about money laundering, Edinburgh gangsters, betrayal, class, family and yes, guilt.
Series three finds Max and Jake forced back to Edinburgh where some old enemies await. They’re joined by Pi-turned legal advisor Kenny Burns, his police detective girlfriend Yvonne, criminal kingpin Maggie Lynch, dangerously unpredictable ex-con Teddy and more familiar faces from the first two series. Also appearing are a range of new characters, as follows:
Isaura Barbé-Brown as Yvonne Nixon
Police officer Yvonne joined Guilt...
