Yellowjackets needed to deliver a win, and that’s exactly what the Showtime survival saga did when it capped its third season with Sophie Thatcher screaming from the top of a mountain to the head-banging tune of Aerosmith’s “Livin’ on the Edge.”
After a deadly season that was certainly the darkest one yet from showrunners Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson and Jonathan Lisco, and a revelatory finale that answered not only who killed Lottie (it was Shauna’s daughter Callie, played by Sarah Desjardins) but also unmasked the long-debated identity of Pit Girl as Mari (Alexa Barajas), Yellowjackets then followed teenage Natalie, played by Thatcher, to a mountaintop after she and Misty (explaining the smile Samantha Hanratty flashed in the pilot) secretly fixed the Sat phone from the scientists and Nat made a connection with the outside world.

Many things came full circle in the Yellowjackets season three finale, including a premonition that Lottie had about her death.
If you ask Courtney Eaton, who plays Lottie in the Showtime survival series’ 1996-1997 teenager timeline, the duality of playing a possibly clairvoyant character who has the ability to see the future while she, as an actor, doesn’t know what the showrunners have planned down the line isn’t lost on her.
“That’s the challenge with playing Lottie. She is usually the one to see and foreshadow things, but I don’t know anything as the actor, which makes playing her really fun because I get to make choices that could be interpreted a few different ways,” Eaton tells The Hollywood Reporter of the mystery drama.

Yellowjackets has found a new deadly duo.
After the killing spree of season three, the Showtime series ended with a revelatory finale, titled “Full Circle,” that answered both the biggest question of the series (who is Pit Girl?) and the biggest question of the season (who killed Lottie?). Both answers also indicated that Shauna (played by Melanie Lynskey in the present and Sophie Nélisse in the past) perhaps deserves what her surviving friends are now plotting against her in present day.
The wilderness timeline revealed that the girl who savagely died in the pilot of the series is Mari (Alexa Barajas), in a hunt that was sparked by “Antler Queen” Shauna (Nélisse). And the present-day timeline in the survival saga unmasked Shauna’s teenage daughter, Callie (Sarah Desjardins), as the murderer of Yellowjackets survivor Lottie (Simone Kessell). In between those revelations, fellow survivor Van (Lauren Ambrose) died...

After setting up a whodunit earlier in the season, the Yellowjackets finale revealed who killed Lottie Matthews. The answer was a surprising one, but not to the actor who made the fateful push.
Callie Sadecki, the teenage daughter to Shauna (Melanie Lynskey), was the one who shoved the show’s most spiritual successor of the wilderness down a flight of stairs to her death. That powerful push came after an interaction that raised more questions, even though it also provided answers, in the revelatory season three ending, “Full Circle.”
Sarah Desjardins, who plays Callie in the Showtime series’ present-day timeline, tells The Hollywood Reporter that she was sensing a Callie-Lottie face off ever since the tragic season two finale, when Callie was nearly caught in the crossfire of the adult survivors’ “hunt” that took the life of one of their own, Natalie (Juliette Lewis). “How Callie was...

With Invention, director Courtney Stephens and writer-actor Callie Hernandez tell a very “American” story. In spite of its disarming, self-deprecating tone, the film depicts a culture of artifice held together with little more than dodgy credit and naïveté, where we’re happy to celebrate scammers if they can bamboozle enough of us into investing in their “therapeutic objects.” Invention, in this land of boosterism, has as much to do with reinventing the self as it does with patenting ideas for novel stress-reduction gadgets.
Invention blends fiction and autobiography to fascinating implications. The plot follows Carrie (Callie Hernandez), a cynical woman whose rather idiosyncratic father has recently died. Hernandez plays a lightly fictionalized version of herself here, with her real father, likewise deceased, making ghostly appearances throughout the film via various ’90s infomercials, in which he leverages his MD to hawk miracle cures beyond the pale of Western medicine.

Ashley Lyle on major death in Yellowjackets Season 3 (Photo Credit – Hotstar)
If you thought YellowJackets season 2’s frozen chaos was brutal, buckle up: the show just upped the body count again in Season 3. With the girls inching further into madness in the past and unraveling in real time in the present, this season proves no one is safe, not even the ones you thought had plot armor.
Now, Ashley Lyle has finally opened up about those jaw-dropping deaths that left fans equal parts shocked, devastated, and (let’s be real) a little impressed. And yes, we’re talking major characters. The kind you’ve emotionally invested in for three seasons. Turns out surviving cannibalism, cults, and cabin fever doesn’t guarantee you’ll survive the writers’ room. So grab your antler crown and let’s unpack the latest round of psychological mayhem, leadership struggles, and the twisted fate that still haunts the Yellowjackets.

The Yellowjackets co-creators had promised answers by the end of the season. They delivered on that with a revelatory season three finale, “Full Circle.”
The Showtime series catapulted itself into the zeitgeist when it launched in 2021 with a captivating pilot about a team of high school soccer players whose plane crashes in the middle of nowhere. The pilot weaved together two timelines with that 1996 crash and the present-day survivors, played by a beloved cast, and there was a killer flash-forward opening of an unidentified girl running for her life, barefoot through snow, who is then impaled and eaten by her friends. This girl became known as “Pit Girl” — her identity speculated about and debated on fan threads for years. Who is this poor girl and how did those teenagers arrive at a place where they hunted their friends for ritual cannibalistic feasts?

The following interview contains spoilers from the Season 3 finale episode of Yellowjackets, titled "Full Circle."
The Season 3 finale of Yellowjackets debuted on Paramount+ with Showtime on Friday and left fans with another cliffhanger — Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) calling for help from a mountaintop as Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) takes her throne as the Antler Queen. In "Full Circle," the teenage Yellowjackets decide it's time for another hunt, and Mari (Alexa Barajas) is the unlucky recipient of the queen of hearts. While attempting to flee, Mari dies by falling into the pit trap and is subsequently strung up for another feast. Meanwhile, Hannah (Ashley Sutton) tricks Shauna by dressing in Natalie's winter gear as Natalie sneaks off with the refurbished radio transponder.
In the adult timeline, Callie (Sarah Desjardins) is revealed as Lottie's (Simone Kessell) killer. After Callie and Jeff (Warren Kole) decide to spend time away from Shauna (Melanie Lynskey), the...

I'll be honest. The first half of Yellowjackets season 3 did not impress me at all, and I thought the show was going downhill this season. However, things started to turn around slowly, especially with the heartbreaking death of Coach Scott. It's not just that he died, but the way he suffered leading up to it. And the desperation he was in put so much pressure on Natalie to put him out of his misery.
However, the story has really picked up and it feels like we haven't been able to take a full deep breath week after week! With Melissa killing Van in episode 9, I couldn't imagine how the last episode could surprise me. But, oh it did! The question now is whether there will be more, and do we want it?

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for the Season 3 finale of “Yellowjackets,” titled “Full Circle,” streaming now on Paramount+ with Showtime.
After more than 25 years of stewing, Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) snaps — again — in the “Yellowjackets” Season 3 finale.
Following a chaotic reunion with her presumed-dead ex, Melissa (Hilary Swank), that ends with Van (Lauren Ambrose) being fatally stabbed, Shauna parts ways with Taissa (Tawny Cypress) and heads home.
But when Shauna arrives at Chez Sadecki, the house is eerily quiet. Sure enough, she discovers that her husband Jeff (Warren Kole) and daughter Callie (Sarah Desjardins) have packed their things and bolted. Shauna immediately confronts Misty (Christina Ricci), suspecting she may have helped them change their phone numbers, but the bespectacled Yellowjacket denies the accusation.
That’s when the ugly truth sets in: this isn’t Misty’s latest chaotic scheme — Callie and Jeff left all on their own. Though Misty (and...

Major spoilers for "Yellowjackets" season 3 ahead.
Now that it's over, it's fair to say that "Yellowjackets" season 3 rose above the early criticisms. The first half of the season dragged its heels and got dragged in turn by some critics. More than a few fans suspected the writers had lost the plot. But then episode 6 "Thanksgiving (Canada)" got the ball rolling with a new conflict: hikers stumbled on the girls, giving them the chance of rescue. That fractured the team further between those who wanted to go home and those who felt at home in the Wilderness.
The slam-dunk season finale, "Full Circle," even rectified some of the problems with Lottie's (Simone Kessell) death earlier this season, giving her a proper final scene and conclusion with Callie (Sarah Desjardins). And "Full Circle" gave us more answers than just those regarding Lottie's death.
"Yellowjackets" has finally started opening the mystery boxes it set.

Yellowjackets season 3’s ending is a grotesque exposition piece of what really went down in the woods back in the day. In the finale of the 3rd season, it looks like the baton has been passed from Shauna to Misty, and she might become the central character of the fourth season. Also, yes, we finally have the answer to who Pit Girl is, and it’s safe to say we were pretty bang on in making that educated guess. On the other hand, whatever’s going on with Travis needs to be thoroughly explored next season, because man was basically just here to show Lottie she’s not what she thinks she is in season 3. But, most importantly, we finally know how the “Yellowjackets” might have made it out of the woods during that final winter. With all that said though, let’s jump straight into the ending of Yellowjackets...

The final episode of Yellowjackets season 3 features loads of big reveals in both timelines. It also gives us the answers we’ve been looking for since season 1—who is Antler Queen? Who is Pit Girl? Two major questions we’ve had for a really long time, and then, of course, more recently, what happened with Lottie, and who killed her? But this is not to say that we have nothing to look forward to; we still don’t know where the heck Walter came from and what his deal is. There are some new doors opening here with the whole Callie situation (we’ll get to it in a bit), and then, of course, there’s Melissa, who was basically around for all of 5 minutes, even though she made a huge impact. The episode is titled “Full Circle,” and I think this is in reference to Shauna and Mari in particular,...

The fights between the teenage Yellowjackets escalated last week. The divide between Team Stay in the Woods and the rest of the girls seems to lean one way. However, the three who want to stay have an odd hold over the others. “How the Story Ends” looks to solve that issue and remind us why Shauna seems to have gone off the deep end in the present. Standing over your ex with a piece of their flesh (that you bit off) is probably not the way to win them back. However, has Shauna ever done anything normal?

Since it was announced that Hilary Swank would be joining the cast of Yellowjacketsfor season three, fans have been theorizing who her character could be. Those details have been kept under wraps to avoid spoilers for the plot.
Some initially believed she would be the adult version of Melissa (Jenna Burgess), the young survivor in the wilderness who found more of a voice in season two, and an affection for Shauna (Sophie Nelisse). But in Episode 7, when adult Shauna (Melanie Lynskey), Van (Lauren Ambrose), and Tai (Tawny Cypress) listen to the audio tape that was left on Shauna’s doorstep, and they mention Melissa as a possibility for the sender, Van shoots this down, noting that she is dead. The other option bandied about was that she could be Hannah’s (Ashley Sutton) daughter, Alex, now grown and looking for revenge. The truth sort of combines the two, but in the weirdest way.

While we were hopeful the girls could pull their stuff together in “Croak,” a few proved a little too wild to get rescued. To be fair, there has been a timeline established earlier in the show, and we were fairly certain they would not find themselves saved in this window. Even so, they have made a mess of things. However, with Akilah and Travis heading towards salvation, the Yellowjackets might be closer to survival in “A Normal, Boring Life” than they have been in some time.

Yellowjackets' present storyline features many of the survivors as adults, navigating seemingly normal life while still emotionally burdened by their wrongdoings in the woods. Shauna Shipman experiences the most change from her younger to adult self. And when she begins to unleash her teenage, feral side in the present day, it's her husband Jeff Sadecki and daughter Callie Sadecki that are affected. Jeff remains supportive of Shauna even in her worst moments, while Shauna's relationship with Callie is a bumpier road.
In the Yellowjackets Season 3 premiere, Callie spills pig guts on her high school classmates -- an incident resembling the same rage teenage Shauna had. It's possible that Shauna has unknowingly created a miniature version of herself in Callie, while Jeff is far from the type to...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains major spoilers for “Yellowjackets” Season 3, Episode 4, titled “12 Angry Girls and 1 Drunk Travis” streaming now on Paramount+ with Showtime.
Who killed Lottie Matthews?
In a shocking turn of events, Episode 4 of “Yellowjackets” ends in the present day, with adult Lottie, played by Simone Kessell, dead at the bottom of the stairs.
Earlier in Season 3, Lottie showed up at Shauna’s (Melanie Lynskey) door, fresh out of the psych ward, with luggage in hand. She had nowhere to go, and Shauna reluctantly let her stay. With a dinner to go to, Shauna and Jeff (Warren Kole) didn’t want to leave Lottie alone with their teen daughter Callie (Sarah Desjardins), so Shauna she pleaded with Misty (Christina Ricci) to come and play babysitter. Shauna didn’t want Lottie spilling any secrets about what happened in the wilderness.
Callie and Lottie bond, though, and then they go on a shoplifting spree.

The following contains minor spoilers for Yellowjackets Season 3, Episode 2, "Dislocation," now streaming on Paramount+.
In Yellowjackets Season 3, Episode 2, "Dislocation,", two unlikely characters find themselves under the same roof: Shauna Sadecki and Lottie Matthews. As teenagers, the two were at odds after the death of Shauna's baby son, whom Lottie used as a symbol of their sacrifice to the so-called "wilderness spirits." Now, as adults, Lottie's presence threatens the relationship between Shauna and her other child, Callie.
Despite Lottie's attempt to murder Shauna in the Season 2 finale to give the wilderness "what it wants," Shauna and Lottie are strangely two sides of the same coin. Whether Shauna likes it or not, she is driven by primal instincts that she developed in the woods. But Lottie may be the very person she lets out those instincts on if Lottie continues to grow closer to Callie. Cbr recently attended a roundtable with...

The newest episode of Yellowjackets season 3 really focuses on Coach Scott, and I have a feeling he does not make it out of the wilderness and that's why we haven't seen him in the present. I don't know, his apparent fate and where the story seems to be heading is making me nervous. Let's get into the review of season 3 episode 3, "Them's the Brakes," on Paramount+ and Showtime. Spoilers Below.

The past timeline had a really heavy focus on Coach Scott, and we see the aftermath of him taking Mari as prisoner. He didn't really have a plan, and she tries to find a way to get out. The two macing each other shouldn't have been so funny, but it kind of was. It made me laugh out loud. What's interesting is that they're hearing the weird growling noises in the cave as well,...

[Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Yellowjackets, Season 3, Episode 3, "Dislocation."]Raise your hand if you judged Callie way too soon during Season 1 of Yellowjackets. Callie is the only teenager in the present day timeline, and she often acts like it. She’s moody, rarely listens to her parents and, in Season 1, Episode 5, crossed a major line by wearing Jackie’s (Ella Purnell) Yellowjackets jersey as a Halloween costume. Sure, one could label that bratty, if not cruel behavior, but as Sarah Desjardins pointed out during her Collider Ladies Night interview, we can’t forget that Callie is a child, and she’s a child that’s been subjected to quite a few head-spinning and disturbing situations courtesy of her parents' (Melanie Lynskey and Warren Kole) twisted past and present.

The following contains spoilers for Yellowjackets Season 3, Episode 3, "Them's the Brakes," which premiered Friday, Feb. 21 on Paramount+.
The previous two episodes of Yellowjackets Season 3 left a lot of questions unanswered. Who left the phone in the bathroom stall for Shauna? What will Ben do with Mari? Will Misty let Walter return to clean Caligula's cage? Season 3, Episode 3, "Them's the Brakes" starts off hot out of the oven with Mari's exhausted rendition of Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy." Ben hasn't killed her yet, and doesn't seem like he will anytime soon. He'll just continue to mock her about their cannibal habits as he gives her bat for a late-night snack. Mari tries to flirt with Ben to buy herself out of this situation.
In all the months the girls have spent together, it's surprising that most of them still don't know he's gay. At least Ben is more open about his sexuality now.

A wild ending to “Dislocation” pushed Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) into a difficult position. It’s unclear if a figure of her past is haunting her or if she’s hoping that Melissa (Jenna Burgess) returns to her life. Her unhappiness in her marriage bleeds into “Them’s The Breaks” — Season 3 Episode 3 of Yellowjackets. A bad dinner, a stalker, and a poorly timed dine-and-dash might be the least of everyone’s worries.

At the end of season two of the Showtime series Yellowjackets, a major character was killed off in the present-day timeline, and it left fans reeling. As one of the main surviving ladies and the catalyst for getting them all together again, Natalie was a tortured soul who was just trying to do right by her old friend Travis. While she used unorthodox methods and wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, her final valiant act was meant to save a young woman she saw so much of herself in.
Despite the shock value the death caused, fans were sad to see Natalie go and wondered why Juliette Lewis, who played adult Natalie, left the series.
How Did Natalie Die in Yellowjackets?

For Melanie Lynskey, playing cannibalistic crash survivor Shauna Shipman on “Yellowjackets” is about walking the line between comedy and drama.
“You look at my character, and she’s imbued with the history of the past,” Lynskey told Variety. “She’s been through so much. She found out she was pregnant, then had this horrible loss.” While Shauna has endured more than her share of trauma, Lynskey enjoyed the character’s more lighthearted moments in Season 3, especially in the 1990s-era storyline in which Sophie Nélisse plays a young Shauna.
“Shauna’s relaxing into herself,” Lynskey explained. “There’s not a lot of time for being very jokey. So it’s nice to start bringing in more scenes where Sophie is allowed to be a little funnier. She’s very funny.”
As for Shauna’s approach to parenting Callie (Sarah Desjardins), Lynskey says Shauna isn’t particularly concerned with her daughter’s increasingly violent tendencies.

Since 2005, Grey's Anatomy has produced a hoard of amazing characters. From incredible surgeons like Richard Webber to swoon-worthy doctors like Derek Shepherd, all of these characters work to make this show a success. So, even with a variety of intense medical cases, many long-term fans would agree that the show is a hit because of its diverse range of characters.
But with so many faces to choose from, it's evident that not everyone is going to be a fan favorite. Some characters are just too obnoxious for their own good, and occasionally, a certain character will just take things too far. As such, for every good Grey's Anatomy character, there seems to be plenty that are just plain annoying.

“Rebuilding” belongs to a genre that’s now past its sell-by date: the slow-moving Sundance red-state movie. By red state, I don’t mean that the politics are right wing in any overt way. I mean that the drama is mired in the fetishistic trappings of the American West — the horses and farm houses, the sunbaked wilderness, the small-town banks and bare-bones convenience stores, the men walking around in Stetsons and cowboy boots, the dialogue that’s so laconic you could drive a pickup truck between the lines.
At a place like Sundance, this sort of movie has always exerted a hip countercultural appeal — a feeling of “Look, even a festival as progressive as ours can dig these neo-traditionalist signifiers!” Today, when the premiere of “Rebuilding” ended, the applause was long and deep. I’m sorry, though, I found it to be a semi-dud, the sort of movie that’s way too self-consciously austere,...

The arrival and departure of countless characters have shaped the ever-evolving Grey's Anatomy storyline. With the medical drama's long-running history, it was inevitable to have several main cast members depart at some point. Therefore, when Patrick Dampsey's Derek Shepherd was tragically killed off in Season 11, it devastated the fans.
The events leading up to Derek's accident and then his mistreatment at Dillard Medical Center were heartbreaking, but they also put the limelight on a seemingly small character. Samantha Sloyan's Penelope Blake briefly appeared during Derek's treatment and was never seen again until she was reintroduced as Callie's girlfriend. 90 Day: The Last Resort star Josh Weinstein’s real reason for not accepting Natalie Mordovtseva as his girlfriend may have finally been revealed. Natalie from Ukraine started dating Mike Youngquist after being introduced by mutual friends. Natalie and Mike were opposites of each other, yet married in April 2020, only to split by December 2020 when Natalie decided she needed a better life. Natalie met Josh in 90 Day: The Single Life and their on-off relationship continued for three years until 2024, when Natalie confirmed her split with Josh after filming 90 Day: The Last Resort season 2.
Josh never saw Natalie as his girlfriend and said it was because Natalie was still legally someone else’s wife.
90dayfiance_alexa has shared what could be the reason why. The blogger posted a screenshot of a Reddit post that showed side-by-side pictures of Josh and a blonde woman. “This is Josh’s actual girlfriend,” the post claimed.

Every so often, a TV show goes completely off the rails, delivering an episode so strange, it feels like we’ve slipped into another dimension.
Whether it’s a surreal musical interlude, a trippy black-and-white homage, or a storyline that still has fans scratching their heads, these episodes broke the mold, giving us unforgettable — and often baffling — moments.
They pushed characters into uncharted territory, twisted the show’s usual format, and left us all wondering, “Did that really just happen?”
(ABC/Screenshot)
Some of these episodes were bold experiments; others felt like fever dreams that somehow made it through the writer’s room.
While they’ve since faded into TV history, their weirdness sticks with us, reminding us of a time when TV wasn’t afraid to take a risk.
From supernatural crossovers to unsettling dream sequences, here’s a look back at the wildest, strangest, and most unexpected episodes...
