CMT introduced the 14 up-and-coming artists named this year’s Next Women of Country during a showcase event at City Winery Nashville.

For more than a decade, the program has been spotlighting and supporting developing female talent. The 2024 class of rising stars is: Anne Wilson, Denitia, Ella Langley, Emily Ann Roberts, HunterGirl, Karley Scott Collins, Kylie Frey, Lauren Watkins, Madeline Merlo, Mae Estes, Tanner Adell, The Castellows, Tigirlily Gold and Twinnie.

This year’s lineup was announced during an invite-only event co-hosted by CMT’s Leslie Fram and singer-songwriter Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry. The duo was joined by special guest Colbie Caillat, and all three will participate as Next Women of Country mentors.

Canadian country singer, Madeline Merlo, is a wifey!

The award-winning singer-songwriter from Vancouver, Canada married the man of her dreams, Nashville attorney Chase Fann, over the weekend at Long Hollow Gardens, a local plant nursery in Gallatin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville.

The naturesque wedding ceremony saw Merlo walk down the gravel aisle in a Madison James designed dress with a hand embroidered veil to Tyler Childers’ “Lady May”. The couple exchanged vows with custom rings by Bespoke X Btm.

Lady Antebellum delivered an at-home performance of their new song, “Champagne Night,” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday. The track was released as a single in April after the country trio’s appearance on the Season 2 premiere of NBC’s Songland, where they selected it as the episode’s winner. Lady Antebellum has become the latest musical act to score a No. 1 hit single from NBC’s songwriting competition “Songland.”

The band selected songwriter Madeline Merlo’s “Champagne Night” as the song the seven-time Grammy Award-winning trio would record together and release as a “Songland” single. The track slid on up to the top of the iTunes County Chart Tuesday following Monday night’s episode.

“Champagne Night’ is the eighth song from the NBC competition series to top an iTunes chart. The last one to do it was OneRepublic’s “Somebody to Love,” which climbed No. 1 on the iTunes Pop Chart and No. 2 on the Overall chart back in September after its release following the first season finale.
