Imran hales from leafy Muswell Hill, in North London, a famous hotbed of thespian and musical talent. His parents were both artists and his love of art was abundantly clear from an early age. He chose to pursue photography at school and worked as a photographer's assistant, aged 16. While still at school, he sang acapella on stage with his brothers, touring nationally. Secretly, however, he harboured a yearning to be James Dean.
Imran spent an entire decade studying the arts. After an art foundation course he studied furniture design, photography, architecture and CAD at university. An interesting career followed. As well as photography related work, he worked as a carpenter and discovered an aptitude for making videos, which became a living.
Joining the "Finchley Film Makers" in the late nineties was a pivotal move, working with people like the film director, Vadim Jean. Over the next sixteen years Imran has has performed various roles behind the camera, and an increasing ammount in front of it. He has enjoyed working with an illustrious line-up, including directors, John Schlessinger and Mike Leigh, as well as actors, Gerard Butler, Julie Walters and Dame Judy Dench.
