Bel-Air has grown to be one of the most popular shows on Peacock. It is a reboot of the 1990s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which in turn is a fictional retelling of actor Will Smith’s teenage years.

The comedy series follows Will’s journey from West Philadelphia to the luxurious neighborhood of Bel-Air. The series finished airing its third season in September 2024, and ever since, fans have been awaiting updates on a potential fourth season. So, is Bel-Air Season 4 happening? Let’s find out.

Bel-Air is returning for a fourth season. Peacock officially announced the renewal on December 3rd, 2024; however, the streamer also revealed that season 4 would be the last for the series. HBO in November 2022 announced a third season for The White Lotus, which will bring a new installment of the Mike White-created anthology series to screens.

Mike White’s “The White Lotus” will air its third season on HBO this February, Warner Bros. Discovery streaming chief Jb Perrette confirmed on Tuesday.

The much-anticipated Season 3 of the mysterious and satirical travel anthology series jets off to Thailand this year, and after a few teases that it would be returning early in 2025, we now finally have a release date to mark on the calendar.

Perrette spoke at the Wells Fargo Tmt Summit on Tuesday, December 3 and revealed the news, and he added that “Euphoria,” which is due to begin production in January, is not likely to return until 2026. What’s more, the HBO series adaptation of the “Harry Potter” books, which is currently looking for its young Harry, Ron, and Hermoine, might also not hit screens until 2027, Perrette said. Exclusive: Bel-Air, which helped put Peacock on the original series map, will be coming to an end. The modern-day drama reimagining of the popular ‘90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has been picked up for a fourth season, which will be its last. According to sources, the final season will consist of eight episodes, fewer than the 10 episodes in each of the first three seasons.

The renewal comes three months after Bel-Air, produced by Universal Television and Westbrook Studios, released its Season 3 finale on Sept. 5. According to sources, it was preceded by behind-the-scenes budget conversations, which could explain the delay. The most recent Season 3 renewal came ahead of the series’ Season 2 finale.

Peacock stepped up in a major way to land Bel-Air in a very competitive situation when the project was taken out in 2020, handing the drama, based on Morgan Cooper’s viral four-minute spec trailer, a two-season pickup.

Due to technical difficulties, the Parks and Recreation alum says she hasn’t seen the Mike White-created series.

“I still haven’t, but I’m going to,” Plaza said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. “To be honest, I had trouble opening my HBO Max account when I was trying to watch it originally. I couldn’t figure out the password and I usually just give up when I can’t figure out the passwords. I just can’t handle things like that.”

Leo Woodall won’t forget his time on set of The White Lotus season two anytime soon. The actor said this week his experience on the show felt like “one big holiday.”

“It was one of those shows where, because there were so many characters and so many storylines, there were so many days off,” Woodall told People, adding that the free time meant he and his co-stars spent a lot of time vacationing together.

Woodall played Jack in The White Lotus season two, a British boy who flirted with Haley Lu Richardson’s Portia and assisted his non-biological uncle Quentin (Tom Hollander) in a plan to murder Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya. The second season of Mike White’s anthology show took place at a resort in Sicily, where the cast lived for several weeks during filming in 2022.

“It does feel like a world away now,” Woodall said of his time in Italy.

Kostov (Shadow and Bone) will recur in the show’s third season, which is set to begin filming in Thailand this month. He joins the cast after HBO “decided to part ways” with Biković, following public criticism from Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs over Biković’s seeming support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In a Jan. 24 social media post, the ministry wrote, “HBO, is it all right for you to work with a person who supports genocide & violates international law?” over a video clip of statements Biković has made about Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea. “The White Lotus” Season 3 has added three new actors to its cast.

Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay and Arnas Fedaravičius have all been added to the highly-anticipated third season of the HBO series.

They join previously announced new cast members Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Tayme Thapthimthong as well as Miloš Biković, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, and Shalini Peiris. It was also announced that “The Gilded Age” star Carrie Coon is joining Season 3, while Natasha Rothwell will return to the show in a reprisal of her role from Season 1. Last week, it was reported that Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Sam Nivola had joined the show as well.

Corney is repped by 42 and Authentic Talent and Literary Management. Duvernay is repped by A3 Artists Agency and Rebel Creative Group. Fedaravičius is repped by The Artists Partnership and Actors in Scandinavia.

Season 3, slated to begin filming in and around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok in February, will follow a new group of guests at another White Lotus property

As usual, no character details about the guests are shared but as Deadline reported in November, the multigenerational group includes a patriarch, a female corporate executive, an actress, a couple of mothers, including a country club wife, a misfit and a yogi.

“Bel-Air” has been renewed for Season 3 at Peacock.

The dramatic reboot of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is currently airing its second season on the streamer, with the season finale set to run on April 27. This marks the first official renewal for the show, as it was originally picked up for two seasons back in 2020.

Like the sitcom version, “Bel-Air” follows a teenager named Will (Jabari Banks), who moves from West Philadelphia to live with his auntie and uncle in the titular posh Los Angeles neighborhood.

Along with Banks, Season of the series also stars Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones and Simone Joy Jones. Tatyana Ali, who played the original Ashley Banks in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” appeared in Season 2 in a recurring guest role.

Bel-Air, based on Morgan Cooper’s popular fan film that reenvisions the 1990s Will Smith sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air as a drama, hails from Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group. In its first season, it became Peacock’s most streamed original series.

This would probably be a bit better if it had more humor in it, as this trailer seems so depressing.
