He was born in Cuba. His father Herman, his mother Sima. He grew up in Bridgeport, Ct. He was educated at Yale College and Yale Drama School
in New Haven, Ct.
He served as Artillery Officer during the Korean War, based first at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, then at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. . Braun wrote numerous magazine articles for Esquire, Playboy, the New York Times Sunday Magazine and other misc publications, notably:
