Born in Los Angeles, CA. Known for Yum Yum (2014). Served in the U.S. Navy for 12 years as a combat cameraman and broadcast journalist. With less than a year in the Military he was recognized and awarded the Department of Defense's highest honors as a documentarian.
Throughout his twelve years he was awarded numerous accolades as well as having his work traveled the globe to be used as training guides to instruct new broadcast journalists on proper shooting and editing techniques.
After serving honorable for nearly 12 years he was medically discharged from the military due to injuries he sustained in Iraq. He wasn't going to let that stop him so he was determined to get back on his feet and finish what he set out to do. Wasting no time and ready for a fresh start, he enrolled in film school at the Art Institute of California - Orange County, Ca. He finished a four-year bachelor program in two and a half years, graduated with the highest honors and currently works freelance for numerous independent films as a cinematographer and editor.
Walter Murch once said, "Film editing is now something almost everyone can do at a simple level and enjoy it, but to take it to a higher level requires the same dedication and persistence that any art form does." His passion for film has allowed him to tell a story through his lens ensuring the lasting impact of the images through generations. Traveling to more than 30 different countries he has a unique outlook on life and wants to give his own perspective on the world. His mission is to let others see that in adversity there is triumph.
Andre is the first to arrive and the last to leave, but always makes sure his crew knows, "We must work efficiently and collectively in order to produce the best possible product. From the Director to the DP, the PA to the grip, we are a family and it takes all of us to create something special." This mentality has carried him throughout the twists and turns of life and helped him handle adversity in a positive way.
From his challenging upbringing, to the tents of Iraq, and his journey through college as a filmmaker. He has become a well rounded and experienced cinematographer and editor, but his journey is far from over.
