Brian Myers Cooper
- Actor
Originally from rural southeast Ohio, Brian grew up on his family's beef farm where he spent blissful years in 4-H, marching band, and school theatre productions. When his folks balked at a performance degree, Brian instead got his BS in Music Education at West Liberty State College. Much to his folks' dismay, he headed straight for NYC after graduation to pursue performing anyway.
Brian played Chris in the national tour of Miss Saigon, and starred Off-Broadway in Jayson, a new musical (title role) and The End of the World Party. Regionally, he's starred in The Christians and An Empty Plate in the Café du Grand Boeuf, both at Riverside Theatre (Vero Beach), and The Game's Afoot at Gretna Theatre. Other stage highlights include: Galileo (Moisés Kaufman, dir.), James Baldwin's Blues for Mr. Charlie (Parnel), I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (three times!), and Billy Roche's The Cavalcaders (American premiere, Florida Stage).
Brian created Sonnet Play, a one-man play told entirely using Shakespeare's sonnets, which he developed at Bedlam Theatre Company's MadLAB! residency.
On screen, he's appeared on The Blacklist, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Boardwalk Empire.
A proud member of Actors' Equity Association, he served for sixteen years on its national council. He is co-chair of the board of trustees for the Equity-League pension & health funds, an IFEBP Master Trustee, and a #FairWageOnstage founding member. You can find dozens of his recipes at MyTinyKitchen.us, and follow him on Threads/Instagram @BriMyCooper.
