Joachim Neef is a film director and editor who grew up in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. After studying screenwriting in Berlin, he pursued film direction at the London Film School and subsequently worked as a commercial director and editor there for several years.
His graduation film, BLACK MOUNTAINS, was screened at over 20 international festivals and received a nomination for the "Max Ophüls Award" in the Best Medium-Length Film category. In 2020, he realized his first feature film, NACHTWACHE, which was nominated for the Hof Gold Prize and the German Cinema New Talent Award at the 56th International Hofer Film Days. The film had its international premiere as part of the Official Selection at the 27th Sofia International Film Festival.
Joachim Neef co-founded the film production company Blue Hour Films GbR and is currently developing two feature film projects, LIEBESRAUSCHEN, and CHILD R.
