Audible and Brock Media have unveiled a six-language audio adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice, recording pairs of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy for each edition and scheduling a 9 September 2025 release for the English version.

French performers Lyna Khoudri and Lucas Bravo—known for Emily in Paris and Ticket to Paradise—will voice the sparring leads in the Paris studio sessions, while Elite alumni Georgina Amorós and Omar Ayuso handle the roles for the Castilian Spanish production.

The English-language cast is headlined by Marisa Abela and Harris Dickinson, joined by Glenn Close, Bill Nighy, Jessie Buckley, Will Poulter and Toheeb Jimoh, a lineup that underscores Audible’s ambition to match screen casting standards.

The movie marks Bourboulon’s follow up his two-part adventure saga “The Three Musketeers” which were also produced by Chapter 2 and Pathé and became box office hits in France, as well as sold to many territories.

Today, Apple TV+ shared a first look at Carême, the upcoming French-language drama starring César Award winner Benjamin Voisin, César Award nominee Jérémie Renier, César Award winner Lyna Khoudri and Alice Da Luz.

The series is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Martin Bourboulon. Carême will make its global debut on Apple TV+ on April 30, 2025, with the first two episodes, followed by one episode weekly every Wednesday through June 11, 2025.

Carême follows the thrilling story of the world’s first celebrity chef, Antonin Carême (Voisin), who rose from humble beginnings in Paris to the height of culinary stardom in Napoleon’s Europe.

Pathe has started sales on Amelie Bonnin’s debut feature Bye Bye (working title), a bittersweet comedy starring popular French singer and actress Juliette Armanet.

The film is about a woman on the cusp of fulfilling her dream of opening a gourmet restaurant when a family emergency brings her back to her hometown, where old memories and a reunion with her childhood sweetheart upend her plans.

Further cast includes Cesar-winning actor Bastien Bouillon alongside François Rollin, Tewfik Jallab and Dominique Blanc. It is produced by Sylvie Pialat’s Les Films du Worso and Topshot Films; Pathe Films and France 3 cinema co-produce.

After first being unveiled in 2023 and premiering in early 2024, it's only now getting a US release starting in March 2025 - it already opened in Europe last year and didn't do very well. The Empire (French: L’Empire) is a 2024 sci-fi comedy-drama written and directed by Bruno Dumont. The film pokes fun at the Star Wars series and big Hollywood blockbusters, all set in Dumont’s home region of northern France.

This international production, involving France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, and Portugal, premiered on February 18, 2024, at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival, winning the Silver Bear Jury Prize. It was released in French theaters on February 21, 2024.

The cast of ‘The Empire’ features Lyna Khoudri as Line, Anamaria Vartolomei as Jane, and Camille Cottin as The Queen, alongside Fabrice Luchini as the villainous Belzébuth. Supporting roles include Brandon Vlieghe, Julien Manier, Bernard Pruvost, and Philippe Jore.

French filmmaker Rebecca Zlotowski, who’s just wrapped filming of “Vie Privée” starring Jodie Foster in Paris, received the French Cinema Award at a jam-packed ceremony held in an ornate room of the Ministry of Culture on Jan. 16.

The tribute, which is given by the film promotion body Unifrance, was introduced by Gaëtan Bruel, chief of staff of Rachida Dati, the minister of culture, as well as Unifrance president Gilles Pelisson and managing director Daniela Elstner.

Created in 2016, the French Cinema Award honors actors, filmmakers and producers who have contributed to making French cinema shine abroad. “Emily in Paris” star Camille Razat, Elsa Zylberstein (“Simone: Woman of the Century”) and Lyna Khoudri (“The Three Musketeers”) will lead a WW2-set romance drama directed by “Papicha” helmer Mounia Meddour.

The movie is produced by Vanessa Djian at Daï Daï Films, a Newen Studios company, and co-produced by Genevieve Lemal at Scope in Belgium, and Bidibul in Luxembourg. Eric Jollant is executive producing. Wild Bunch Distribution will handle the theatrical release in France.

The untitled feature, whose exact plot remains under wrap, is loosely based on a play by Jean-Philippe Daguerre and was penned by Joanne Giger (“Le milieu de l’horizon”). It revolves around a love story unfolding against the backdrop of the liberation of Paris in 1944 which marked the end of the Nazi occupation of the French capital.

French sales outfit Ginger & Fed has boarded Fabien Gorgeart’s comedy drama What Is Love? (C’est Quoi l’Amour?) starring Laure Calamy and Vincent Macaigne as a long-divorced couple attempting to annul their Catholic marriage at the Vatican.

Ginger & Fed, the theatrical sales arm of French group Federation run by Sabine Chemaly, will kick off sales for the film at the American Film Market.

Lyes Salem, Melanie Thierry, Celeste Brunnquell and Saül Benchetrit round out the cast of the feature, which is shooting now and produced by Petit Film and Deuxième Lign.

The Match Factory has boarded international sales on An Urban Allegory, the new short film by Alice Rohrwacher and Jr, ahead of its world premiere at Venice Film Festival, Out of Competition.

The work marks the second collaboration between Italian filmmaker Rohrwacher and French artist and director Jr, after Omelia Contadina which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2020.

Taking inspiration from Greek Philosopher Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, asking what would happen if one of the prisoners managed to free themselves from their chains and escape from the cave, An Urban Allegory explores what would happen if the prisoner were Jay, a 7-year-old boy.

The film stars Lyna Khoudri, Palme d’Or winning director Leos Carax and Naïm El Kaldaoui in his first role.

The Match Factory has acquired international sales rights for “An Urban Allegory,” a short film by Italian filmmaker Alice Rohrwacher and French artist and director Jr, ahead of its world premiere at Venice Film Festival, where it plays out of competition.

“An Urban Allegory” marks the second collaboration between Rohrwacher, best known for “La Chimera,” “Happy as Lazzaro” and “The Wonders,” and Jr, whose credits include “Faces Places,” “Women Are Heroes,” “Paper and Glue” and “Tehachapi,” after premiering “Omelia Contadina” at Venice Film Festival in 2020.

French producer Dimitri Rassam is enjoying a high-profile Cannes Film Festival as producer of Competition title Limonov: The Ballad and The Count Of Monte Cristo, which scored a rousing 12-minute ovation at its Out of Competition debut.

“It’s my first film in Competition, it has been a tremendous ride,” says Rassam, who is a producer on Limonov under his Paris-based Chapter 2 banner, alongside Italy’s Lorenzo Gangarossa and Mario Gianani as well as director Kirill Serebrennikov’s long-time collaborator Ilya Stewart.

Eagles Of The Republic is third and final film in Saleh’s Cairo trilogy after Sundance Grand Jury prize winner The Nile Hilton Incident (2017) and Cannes screenplay winner Cairo Conspiracy aka Boy from Heaven (2022).
