Jessica Felicia
- Actress
Jess Ang was born in Los Angeles, California. She has dark brown hair and brown eyes, and has a Californian accent due to her upbringing. Although ethnically Chinese, Jess speaks Bahasa Indonesian and Spanish fluently, more so than her Chinese - both Mandarin and Cantonese (though she is able to mimic the Chinese language and accents extremely well). As long as she gets a script, she will perform.
Jess studied at an all-girls high school, Marlborough School, where she was a part of Drama Ensemble under mentors Tom Quaintance and Anne Scarborough, in which she played two roles: 1) Ono Noh Komachi, a 100-year old poet from Japan in Ono Noh Komachi and 2) Miss Emily Block from Ruthless! The Musical. Jess graduated from USC Marshall School of Business. Upon graduation, she worked as a research associate in CLSA Hong Kong for almost four years, before pursuing her MBA studies at INSEAD in Singapore and Fontainebleau, France.
Although Jess works in finance, she always makes time for acting activities outside of work. Jess completed an On-Camera Acting Workshop from International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) in Hong Kong. She is completing her course for a Certificate in Performing Arts - Acting at IAFT. She was trained by experienced mentors within the entertainment industry like Marcus Huntley, Tony Shyu, Maggie Blue O'Hara, Leon Hill, Harry Oram, Margaret Cheung, Joshua Wolper, and Nick Atkinson. Jess filmed short scenes and monologues, including a short horror film The Fall Guy written and directed by filmmaking students in IAFT. She will also be featured in two feature films which will be released in theatres in Hong Kong in 2015, My Name is Tanyusha by Harry Oram and Inflection by Derek Ting. She also shot a commercial for a company called Paperclip in Hong Kong (www.papercliphk.com).
