Barbara Bargiel is a Polish - British Film Director & Scriptwriter living in London (UK). Her films are made up of all- female crew. In July 2023 she was selected as Bafta Connect Director working on debut feature.
Based on scripts selected to Programmes: National Film & Television School Filmmaking Certificate, Sundance Institute Collabs in Directing & Writing; BFI Skill Up Mentoring for Writers- Directors with TripleC & Screenskills; WFTV Table Read.
Barbara's shorts screened in festivals worldwide and are exploration of genre & directorial voice finding. Birmingham Film Festival, Bifa qualifying Sunderland Short Film Festival, New Renaissance Film Festival, Oregon Short Film Festival, Cleveland and San Francisco to name a few.
Supported by charitable funds of: Screenskills Bursary (BFI- National Lottery Fund); Film & TV Fund/ Stop Gap Grant - Sundance & Marche du Film Accreditation charges (1st feature development); Campaign Bootcamp Community Fund- NFTS fee.
Barbara's ambition is to see women progressing in the film industry and being given opportunities.
In Summer 2024 Barbara will be attending Screen Argyll's ( Screen Scotland) Sea Change Professional Development Lab funded by Film & TV Charity Fund & Screenskills Bursary ( BFI, National Lottery Fund).
