Lucien Laviscount knows what it’s like to play a leading man. The Emily in Paris star has spent the past four years playing suave British CFO Alfie in the hit Netflix series, a character that’s seen him matchup against seemingly every eligible bachelor in this fictional Paris — and continually win. But playing love interests isn’t as easy as simply having a nice face. It takes a combination of charm and the dedicated force of an actor who knows how to thread the needle between enticing fantasy, and...

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Tell Me Lies” Season 2 finale.
“Tell Me Lies” has come full circle, with its Season 2 finale seeing Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White) back together, and definitely not better than ever.
After Stephen declared his love for Lucy at the end of Episode 7, the finale picks up after the exes hooked up, leaving Lucy in a place so low all she can think to do is reach back out to Leo (Thomas Doherty) and make a plea for them to reconcile. Leo takes her back — and simultaneously Stephen breaks up with Diana (Alicia Crowder) — but their reconnection ends abruptly when Stephen throws his and Lucy’s hookup just hours before in Leo’s face, which arouses out an anger in Leo to beat Stephen bloody.
Left at a standstill, Lucy is pushed back into Stephen’s orbit when, after Drew’s sudden death in the finale,...

‘Tell Me Lies’ Stars Grace Van Patten and Jackson White Unpack Season 2 Finale’s Thought-Out Revenge
[This story contains major spoilers from the season two finale of Tell Me Lies, “Don’t Struggle Like That, Or I Will Only Love You More.”]
As viewers wrap their heads around the season two finale of Tell Me Lies — which saw twist after twist — stars Grace Van Patten and Jackson White are unpacking some of the shocking moments.
Following arguably a more toxic season than the first, the second finale of the hit Hulu series featured tragic, surprising and jaw-dropping moments from beginning to end, including Wrigley’s (Spencer House) younger brother Drew’s (Benjamin Wadsworth) death, Oliver’s (Tom Ellis) open-marriage reveal, Diana’s (Alicia Crowder) orchestrated breakup with Stephen, and Stephen dropping a bombshell on Bree (Catherine Missal) and Evan’s (Branden Cook) wedding day in the 2015 timeline, among others.
Van Patten tells The Hollywood Reporter that she “really couldn’t believe” what Stephen did in those final few moments of the season. “I’m so curious what...

Let’s get this out of the way now. For anyone who read my review for Tell Me Lies Season 2 Episode 7, I had no idea someone was actually going to die!
I was as shocked as everyone else! There was so much that happened in this finale that it’s hard to keep track of who’s life is on fire and who’s isn’t.
Suffice it to say, Tell Me Lies Season 2 Episode 8 dropped nuclear bombs on the story. Not everyone is walking away unscathed.
(Disney/Screenshot)
However, there is one character who deserves the title of Mvp of Tell Me Lies Season 2. This girl put in the work, and she came out on top. I can’t wait until Stephen finds out.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from the Season 2 finale of “Tell Me Lies,” now streaming on Hulu.
Season 2 of “Tell Me Lies” came crashing to an end — in both the 2008 and the 2015 timelines. In an attempt to sum up everything that happened: Stephen (Jackson White) and Diana (Alicia Crowder) broke up — an idea she made him think was his doing, but she’d been planning all along to get him away. There was no sadness at all for Stephen, who immediately slept with Lucy (Grace Van Patten). Right after that hookup, Lucy went back to Leo (Thomas Doherty) and slept with him — without even changing her underwear. That tidbit came in hand for Stephen later when he brought up what she was wearing to prove to Leo they’d hooked up hours before and led to Leo punching him repeatedly until his face was unrecognizable.
Then there were Bree...

An unspoken rule goes into bringing together a show about young adults in their twenties: they must be hot. Like, The CW hot. Tell Me Lies has certainly stuck the landing.
If the petty drama and nonstop destruction of reputations manage to pull you in, you’ll be treated with enough eye candy to cause diabetes.
If we’re going to have handsome hunks thrown in our faces, we should at least know where else we can stalk – I mean, watch them.
(Josh Stringer/Disney)
Where there are pretty people on TV, there are petty problems!
With Tell Me Lies Season 2 just about doubling up on the man-meat, it’s time to get to the bottom of where Hulu found these gorgeous guys to play such “unique” characters.
Get ready to swipe right, ladies and gentlemen, because we have a lineup of suitable bachelors for you today!

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Tell Me Lies” Season 2 Episode 6.
As “Tell Me Lies” hinges closer to its Season 2 finale, Episode 6 sees an explosive confrontation that star Grace Van Patten identifies as a “turning point” for Lucy — and Stephen.
With tensions already high during a snowed-in Thanksgiving, Stephen (Jackson White) tries his hardest to interrupt the carefree romance between Lucy (Van Patten) and Leo (Thomas Doherty), and eventually hits one of Lucy’s buttons when Stephen reveals Leo’s ex-girlfriend cheated on him with Stephen. Lucy lashes out at Stephen — and Diana (Alicia Crowder) via a drunken slap — which hits a switch for Leo.
Overwhelmed by the situation, Leo tells Lucy the dynamic reminds him of his strained childhood and breaks up with Lucy. Feeling ashamed of herself, Lucy doesn’t fight for their relationship, with Van Patten saying her character “knows she’s not capable of … reciprocating love.

When Tell Me Lies debuted in the fall of 2022, no one was sure how it would do. The Hulu series, about a toxic relationship between two students at a fictional college, was the first project to come out of Emma Roberts’ adaptation-focused first-look deal at the streamer and featured a cast of relatively unknown — at the time — actors. But then, very quickly, star Grace Van Patten began to notice something strange; when she walked around Los Angeles with Jackson White (who plays the other half of the aforementioned toxic relationship), girls were rolling down their car windows or stopping them on the sidewalk to scream at her to get away from White, as if the world of the show were real.
“It felt like we were on a reality show,” Van Patten says. “It was cool that people were so invested in these characters — but also a little scary because...

Tell Me Lies on Hulu is back! The season 2 premiere episode wastes absolutely no time picking up from where we left off. But this time, instead of beginning to solve and untangle the stack of lies and betrayals, the web has grown!
Spoiler alert! What happens in Tell Me Lies season 2 episode 1 and episode 2? Both are now streaming on Hulu! If you have yet to stream these, we need you to rush over and do so, because we are diving into spoilers below, people! Go catch up before reading ahead.
If it feels as if it has been a really long time since we last got involved in the most toxic relationship on TV, that’s because it’s been about two years. Lucy (Grace Van Patten) is back at Baird College, but getting any actual work and studying done is the last thing that’s about to be done around there.

[This story contains spoilers from the first two episodes of Tell Me Lies season two, “You Got a Reaction, Didn’t You?” and “I Shall Now Perform a 180 Flip-Flip.”]
If Tell Me Lies fans thought season one was toxic, they’re in for an even “darker and weirder” season two, says showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer.
The new installment of Hulu’s hit series picks up as exes Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White) return to college, not speaking following their dramatic breakup at the beginning of summer. They quickly find themselves entangled in a new version of their addictive dynamic, however, while their friend group navigates their own rousing journeys.
The first two episodes, which released Sept. 4, are already packed with shocking moments, from Bree (Catherine Missal) and Evan’s (Branden Cook) breakup, to the introduction of new characters Leo (Thomas Doherty) and Oliver (Tom Ellis), to Pippa (Sonia Mena) and Diana’s (Alicia Crowder) kiss in 2015. And while...

Tell Me Lies season 2 is finally here, and that means new episodes each week to give us our fix of the Hulu drama. The first season had a lot of twists, turns, and of course lies and I'm sure the second won't be any different. The first two episodes were released on premiere day (episode 2 review here). Let's review season 2 episode 1, "You Got a Reaction, Didn't You?" Spoilers Below.
(Disney/Josh Stringer)
One of the biggest shockers we were left with last season is the fact that Stephen and Lucy's (former?) best friend Lydia are now together and engaged. The first episode is definitely an establishing one overall as we see what happens next at this party leading up to Evan and Bree's wedding.
While Lucy is rightfully angry and annoyed at the two of them together, an intriguing scene happens later in the episode where Lydia tells Lucy, "I...

Lucy (Grace Van Patten), it’s time to forget about Stephen (Jackson White). Put that toxic relationship in the past! Tell Me Lies returns for Season 2 on September 4, and Thomas Doherty is stepping onto campus as Leo, a new guy who catches Lucy’s eye. Could Lucy leave all the Stephen drama behind and be happy with Leo? Doherty spoke with TV Insider about how Leo compares to Stephen and his new romance with Lucy. “It’s day and night,” the actor said. “Leo is this guy who kind of comes in, and he’s not been involved in all this toxicity… Even when I was reading the script, I was waiting for the penny to drop. Like, where is his toxicity? Where is his toxic trait? I guess it’s a communicative, healthy relationship—the way that it should be, but Lucy’s just been so traumatized and decimated...

Hulu’s Tell Me Lies, the streamer’s sexiest series, returns for season two on September 4, 2024. The new season kicks off with the release of the first two episodes, followed by new episodes of the eight-episode season on Wednesdays.
The trailer reveals that Stephen has been assigned as a teacher’s assistant in one of Lucy’s classes. Which, of course, will lead to sparks flying and plenty of sexual tension.
Hulu offered this description of season two: “Tell Me Lies season two picks up as Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) return to college, not speaking after their dramatic breakup at the start of the summer. Yet while very much at odds, they find themselves in a new version of their addictive dynamic – which is as infuriating as it is inescapable. Fall marks the start of the traditional TV season. And while streaming has made television a year-round spectacle, an avalanche of new and returning series make this autumn feel more special than recent years.
Hollywood’s content contraction, along with the post-pandemic and strike landscape results in less shows overall. But upcoming streaming, cable and broadcast offerings come with such promise that we had to double our traditional preview to fit a fraction of the noteworthy titles set to premiere in the coming months. Ryan Murphy is set to take over the conversation with four new shows across three networks — including FX’s “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez” and “Grotesquerie,” Netflix’s “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” and ABC’s “Doctor Odyssey” — while returning favorites like “Abbott Elementary,” “The Diplomat” and “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” will keep fans entertained as the air starts to cool. With September right around the corner, that means there's a number of new shows and seasons coming to streaming. And thankfully, Tell Me Lies season 2 is on that list! Hulu has definitely kept us waiting long enough. The last time the series featured new episodes was back in October 2022.
Well, we're her now and we're ready to see what's in store for Lucy and Stephen, as well as the rest of the dramatic friend group. I'm sure there's lots of twists and turns coming our way. We have to be a bit more patient to find out how things play out, though we do have plenty of info about the new season ahead of its release.

Tell Me Lies fans rejoice! Season 2 will premiere on Hulu September 4th.
Created and executive produced by Meaghan Oppenheimer and based on the novel by Carola Lovering, the show follows Baird college student Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and her highly dysfunctional romance with master manipulator Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White). At the end of Season 1, Lucy was left reeling from a tangled web of lies, and the many resulting broken relationships with fellow students. Season 2 begins with Lucy’s return to college, where she is trying to block Stephen out, only of course, it’s not that simple.
Lucifer star Tom Ellis will join the cast as Oliver, a professor married to Lucy’s teacher Marianne (Gabriella Pession); Leo, a student returning from abroad, will take an interest in Lucy, and fans will get to see many of the dangling threads from Season 1 be tied up.

Tell Me Lies Season 2 now has a trailer, and the tension only gets thicker between Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White). The show premieres Sept. 4 with two episodes, followed by one episode a week.

Hulu’s steamy drama series “Tell Me Lies” is returning this fall and will showcase a toxic new dynamic between recent exes Lucy and Stephen.
In Thursday’s trailer for the new season, which debuts Wednesday, Sept. 4, Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) reunite at college following their dramatic breakup at the start of summer. Lucy is determined to shake off the drama and focus on school, insisting she’s not even worried about Stephen. In fact, she says she was in some sort of “delusional state last year.”
Upon their return to college, however, Stephen’s taunting doesn’t help her case, as he approaches her with a public apology, admitting he embarrassed her “over and over again.” “I’m sure that made you feel terrible about yourself,” he tells Lucy in the trailer.
“You’re right — I am still mad,” she concedes later on.

It’s a mixed specialty market still below pre-Covid levels but buoyed recently by hits like Thelma and hopeful that cinema goers are starting to sort out what to see, when and where.
“I think you’re starting to see who’s really theatrical and who isn’t. The lines are becoming clearer. Like, ‘Okay, I’m going to see this, Inside Out 2, in a theater, and I’m going to see that at the Angelika, or wherever, it might be. But I’m going to see it in a theater,...

For all the music acts that have broken into mainstream fame thanks to social media, countless others have surrendered their aspirations on the road to making it big. “Dandelion,” the sophomore effort from writer-director Nicole Riegel (“Holler”), observes the impromptu romance and creative synergy between two musicians on the precipice of giving up. The evocative visuals here sing in unison with the characters’ yearning to fulfill the promise of their lifelong dreams. They are chasing a glimmer of light before twilight.
Tired of singing in a Cincinnati hotel bar to an audience for whom she is no more than background noise, singer-songwriter Theresa (KiKi Layne), stage name Dandelion, travels to South Dakota for a competition to be the opening act at a major event. Though she fails to land the gig, she meets Casey (Thomas Doherty), a Scottish man in town to play with his old bandmates. The archetype of the scruffy indie musician,...

In the multitude of A Star Is Born movies and their progeny, an aspiring artist’s struggles are prelude to a melodrama of triumph and conflict, played out in the unforgiving glare of the fame machine’s klieg lights. Nicole Riegel’s Dandelion turns that template inside out: In its fringe milieu of shadows, the yearning and bursts of inspiration, the discouragement and relentless hard work are not prelude but the main action.
The story of a young singer-songwriter who’s stuck in a nowhere loop until she takes an impulsive leap, the feature is sometimes clunky but often quietly transporting, with strong chemistry between KiKi Layne as the title character and Thomas Doherty as the charismatic musician she meets when she ventures out of Cincinnati and her self-defeating rut.
This is the second part of a planned trilogy centering on Ohio women, and, as in her debut feature, Holler,...

Nicole Riegel's sophomore feature, Dandelion, is the second part of a planned thematic trilogy of films about three different women from lower income backgrounds. Following her 2020 feature debut, Holler, about Ruth (Jessica Barden), a teenager with dreams of going to college, who gets a job at a scrapyard, she shifts focus to Dandelion (KiKi Layne), a struggling thirtysomething Cincinnati singer-songwriter.
Ready to sell her guitar and give up on her dream, Dandelion takes one last shot at a gig at a motorcycle rally in South Dakota. She crosses paths with Casey (Thomas Doherty), a guitarist, who introduces her to his nomadic group of struggling musicians. Amid her waning self-belief, she finds a new perspective on her creative journey.

The title of writer-director Nicole Riegel’s Dandelion suggests it’s an allegorical tale about a sprouting seedling carried on a once-in-a-lifetime journey along a soft, gentle breeze. Dandelion (KiKi Layne) is not appreciated in her own time. She’s not appreciated at the swanky Cincinnati hotel where she sings and plays guitar three nights a week, trying her damndest to be heard over rude guests who talk during her set, jabber on their phones, or simply pretend she doesn’t exist. She’s not appreciated at home, where her ailing mother Jean (Melanie Nicholls-King) can barely be coaxed off the couch without tossing off a combative word at her daughter. And she’s not appreciated the way the same people she came up with on the local music scene are, so many of them crowding her social media feeds as they sign big deals and frequently flash their bodies for some added clout.
So when Dandelion takes off in the middle of the night, bound for the last place she expects to find anything of value for...
