It took about ten minutes for me to realize that Pursuit was going to be an epic shitshow. That’s how long it takes to get to the first shootout. "Been a long time since I've been out like this." Vertical Entertainment has revealed an official trailer for a family comedy titled Sam & Kate, opening in select theaters this November. Described as a "life-affirming family dramedy" starring Oscar winners Dustin Hoffman and Sissy Spacek - truly a family affair, art imitates life with the father / son casting of Dustin & Jake Hoffman and the mother / daughter casting of Sissy & Schuyler Fisk. When Sam (the younger Hoffman) returns to his small town to care for his ailing father, he soon finds himself falling for a local woman, Kate. Simultaneously, his father begins finding love with Kate's mother. But both couples must confront their past in order to make their new love work for the future. The cast also includes Henry Thomas, Tyler Labine, Elizabeth Faith Ludlow, Dylan McNamara, and Elizabeth Becka. This looks sweet and fun, but also a film you'll forget as soon as it's over.

There will be no third season of Netflix’s space drama Another Life, star Katee Sackhoff revealed on Twitter Monday. The news, which is not surprising, comes four months after the release of Season 2 on Oct. 14.
“I wish we could do more seasons but sadly it’s just not in the cards,” Sackhoff wrote in her note to fans, thanking “everyone single person who watched & supported Another Life on Netflix.”
Created by Aaron Martin, who also served as showrunner, Another Life centers on astronaut Niko Breckinridge (Sackhoff) who is focused on searching for alien intelligence. She leads a crew on a mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact. As Niko and her young crew investigate, they face unimaginable danger on what might very well be a one-way mission.

Peacemaker explores the continuing story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of Gunn’s 2021 film “The Suicide Squad” – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. The first three episodes of the DC spin-off series premiered Thursday, January 13 and runs through February 17.
While Gunn wrote all eight episodes of Peacemaker and directed five, including the first, it’s the 5th episode titled “Monkey Dory” that has become the standout story of the first season.
Here’s a look at the five reasons why we loved it.

The Fab 5, which includes Economos (Steve Agee), Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), Adebayo (Danielle Brooks), Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), and Peacemaker (John Cena), finally became a true Team. Even though they go up against the horde of monsters they come...

Spoiler Alert: This piece contains major spoilers for the first three episodes of “Peacemaker,” which premiered January 13 on HBO Max.
Even after re-watching James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” in anticipation of “Peacemaker,” it was hard to see why Peacemaker, of all the movie’s antiheroes, merited a series of his own beyond the fact that he was played by John Cena. In a story that otherwise leans on agents of chaos like Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Daniela Melchior’s endearing Ratcatcher 2, and conflicted journeymen like Idris Elba’s Bloodsport or Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag, Cena’s stickler of a killer was far from its most compelling character. When he finally got shot in the throat at the end of the movie, his apparent exit from the stage felt about right.
But less than six months later, here we are with an entire HBO Max show dedicated to Peacemaker,...

Starring sci-fi vet Katee Sackhoff of Battlestar Galactica fame, the show revolves around an astronaut, Niko Breckenridge, who leads a mission to discover the truth about a mysterious alien artifact. The show's cast also includes Justin Chatwin as Erik Wallace (Niko's scientist husband), Samuel Anderson as William, and Elizabeth Faith Ludlow as Cas Isakovic. The renewal may come as a surprise to some, given that Another Life's first season was met with somewhat negative critical reviews. Netflix’s new series “Another Life” brings Katee Sackhoff back into space, a decade after the conclusion of “Battlestar Galactica,” the beloved series on which she starred. But her new series looks more like the rest of the fare on the SyFy network — it’s inelegantly made and operates less in the realm of ideas than in pure scares. It’s not ineffective, but little in “Another Life” connects to do much more than the purely visceral.
Which is too bad, not least because the show starts from a point that suggests it has big things on its mind. The arrival (to borrow the title of the 2016 film the plot seems to ape a bit) of a UFO hovering above Earth prompts Sackhoff, an astronaut, to join a mission seeking its origin and its motives. She’s faced first with a mutinous blowhard among her crew and then by a...

Bursts of insubordination from her crew is arguably the least of Commander Niko Breckinridge’s worries in this brand-new trailer for Netflix’s Another Life — the first such teaser to hint at what the upcoming sci-fi thriller is truly about.
Set for a Thursday, July 25 launch date and hailing from from Aaron Martin (Killjoys), Another Life follows Niko (played by Katee Sackhoff) as she and the crew of her space exploration ship, the Solvare, face unimaginable dangers — on what might very well be a one-way mission — as they seek out an alien world that has deposited a mysterious structure on Earth.

We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto. Only instead of wicked witches, the scary monsters in the universe of “Godzilla: King of Monsters” are “Mothra, Rodan, Ghidorah, Oh my.”
That’s not the only “Wizard of Oz” reference in the latest and final trailer for “King of Monsters,” which features a melancholic and soaring version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” atop of all the glorious carnage and jaw-dropping visuals for the biggest kaiju battle yet.
The trailer opens with Thomas Middleditch explaining that we’re seeing the rise of Titans, 17 massive, mythical creatures in all. Each one is seeking out an “alpha,” or in this case Ghidorah, leaving untold destruction behind in their battles. The heroes are then forced to awake Godzilla as Earth’s only hope to defeat Ghidorah.

Elizabeth Ludlow was on The Walking Dead for three seasons as Arat. Her character worked for Negan and was a member of the Survivors. Arat was one of those characters that had a deeper backstory than what was presented onscreen. She also had some secrets that most of the characters (and the viewers) didn’t know about. The death of Arat After Justin, also a member of the Saviors, vanished in the night, a lot of drama surfaced on the show. During the same episode where it was revealed who killed Justin, Arat was placed in peril. The women from Oceanside […]

Spoiler Alert: Do not keep reading if you have not seen Episode 3 of Season 9 of “The Walking Dead,” titled “Warning Signs”
“The Walking Dead” continued it’s strong forward momentum in Season 9, with this week’s episode continuing to show the deterioration of the fragile alliance that has been forged.
The episode opens with Justin (Zach McGowan)–the Savior who raised the ire of Daryl (Norman Reedus) in the first two episodes of the season–lying dead on the ground near a brick building. Soon, he reanimates as a walker and rises back to his feet.
The next morning, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) walks through Alexandria in the early morning and visits Carl’s grave. He leaves a freshly grown tomato from the community’s gardens near the grave as a sign of the future Carl helped inspire. Back at home, he and Michonne (Danai Gurira) talk about the bridge building project and her charter.

(Warning: Spoilers ahead for Season 9, Episode 3 of “The Walking Dead,” titled “Warning Signs”)
In Sunday night’s episode of “The Walking Dead,” we finally found out who’s been sniping Saviors: Oceanside members whose loved ones were killed by the formerly Negan-run group. In the final scene, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) discover Cyndie (Sydney Park) and other Oceanside residents about to execute Arat (Elizabeth Ludlow), who killed her 11-year-old brother before the war.
Arat begs Maggie and Daryl to intervene, but the two end up walking away, and she’s killed. The scene seems to mark a boiling-over point: Rick has been trying to get all the communities to live peacefully with one another, but there’s still too much history for that to be a realistic goal. The episode ends ominously, with Maggie telling Daryl: “We gave Rick’s way a chance. It’s time to see Negan.

Between the McU, Dceu, Universal’s embryonic Dark Universe and the MonsterVerse, there’s not a day that goes by without some exciting update being released for one of Hollywood’s interconnected film franchises. 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2': Entertaining pop culture references help to alleviate James Gunn's 'weight of obligation' Pull up a chair, gather your friends, and warm up those texting thumbs: the hour is nigh for our biannual ritual of packing ourselves into theaters and watching the ultra-caffeinated exploits of whichever Marvel superheroes we're obligated to obsess over this time. Punishment for non-compliance is harsh; your Facebook feed will be clogged with posts about a topic to which you are indifferent, the modern definition of social pariah. This time, it's Guardians of the Galaxy, a second-tier Marvel property whose refreshingly saucy first film, released in 2014, earned $773 million worldwide.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is headed straight for us. Here's everything you need to know, from release date to story details.
Gareth Edwards' 2014 Godzilla movie did what Roland Emmerich's 1998 version couldn't do: successfully reboot the iconic franchise and one of the screen's greatest monsters for an American audience. Not only that, but in conjunction with Kong: Skull Island three years later, it launched the MonsterVerse, a shared universe of giant creatures drawing from both the King Kong mythos as well as the 60-year-old Toho Studios repertoire.
Godzilla 2 was soon announced and has eventually emerged as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, with the name itself a reference to the Americanized title of the very first movie in the Toho canon, 1954's Gojira. Michael Dougherty and Zach Shields, who recently worked together on Krampus (which Dougherty also directed), wrote the script. Since...
