Dan Stratford is a Special FX make up artist based in Essex.
Dan is creative, reliable, friendly and keen to share his passion with others. Since early 2013 when he first started to pursue a career in special fx makeup, Dan has worked on several films and been involved with large public events. Although Dan primarily focuses on Fx makeup, he often designs and builds props, costume and has an extensive technical background in audio.
Employed full-time by South Essex College, Dan is a fully qualified teacher whilst fitting in as much free-lance makeup work as possible.
Dan loves character make-up and is particularly influenced by Richard Taylor's team at Weta studios as well as drawing on inspiration from well established artists like Dick Smith, Tom Savini, Greg Nicotero, Neill Gorton and Stuart Bray.
Splatter and horror films are a big inspiration to Dan too, who is particularly fond of films directed by Peter Jackson amongst many others.
