Francesca Nider
- Writer
- Actress
- Producer
Francesca Nider is a bilingual Italian writer, voice-over, actress and sometimes producer, transplanted to the remote North York Moors, where she battles wild rabbits and inner demons that feed her film & TV scripts, both drama and comedy. Refugee parents and generational trauma inspired her writing journey which she started with an MA in Film (Screenwriting) decades after a Cornell degree.
Born and raised in Italy and bilingual thanks to an all-American schooling, she previously lived in London, where she trained as a Meisner actress and carried that "truthful root" to creativity into her writing.
She's co-created original TV Series Batshit and more recently penned her own dark comedy series Casa Nostra, a tasty mix of organized crime, fish-out-of-water and LGBT+ ingredients - a gutsy feast of Italian fare thrown into a Yorkshire pressure cooker.
Her first short, Swipe Love, won the Flirtomatic dating app competition and more recently wrote and co-produced her short film, Our Father, which premiered at the Raindance Film Festival.
