Zindagi itni acchi nahin toh itni buri bhi nahin… This bitter-sweet heartwarming at times , absurd and illogical and misbegotten at other times, is so lifelike: sometimes it’s a dream, at other times it sucks. But all said and done, Sukhee left me with a feeling of experiencing something worth my while.

Comparisons to Sridevi in English Vinglish and the overrated Vidya Balan in Tumhari Sallu notwithstanding, Shilpa Shetty Kundra comes off with flying colours in the title role. She should be seen more on the big screen than the phone screen. Her Sukhee is to begin with a harried housewife in a small town in Punjab where the women have nothing better to do than pry into their neighbours’ business, attend endless keertans, make chole bhatures and bitch about their spouses.

Actress Pavleen Gujral, who plays the role of Tanvi in upcoming film ‘Sukhee’, says that it was the subject of the film which attracted her initially. The actress added that the layers in her character and her character graph are remarkable as well.

“Mukesh Chhabra’s casting company approached me for the role of Tanvi. This happened about two years before we began shooting the movie. I was one of the first people to be chosen for the film. Later on, they selected other actors for different roles. They wanted to make a movie about girls having fun and forming strong bonds.”

New Delhi, Sep 13 (Ians) Actress Shilpa Shetty’s upcoming film ‘Sukhee’ has released a new song titled ‘Nasha’ featuring the pop star Badshah. The song perfectly harnesses the feeling of her character of a tired mom who takes a vacation from her routine life to rediscover her zest for life into a groovy and positive, synth-pop track with a filmy touch.

The song in itself is a very upbeat pop song with a lot of electronic influence, typical of the synth-pop or modern day electronic pop, though it also has a ‘touch’ of Bollywood’s dance songs, and sure is a foot tapper.

Simple, wholesome and elegant, nothing in ‘Nasha’ is overdone as it more than suits the film’s theme and legitimately makes audiences feel a sense of being ‘sukhee’ (happy), discovering the joys of life and happiness in the simplest of things.

Shilpa Shetty has shared some love for her husband Raj Kundra, who is celebrating his 48th birthday on Saturday. She penned an post and called him a “beautiful soul” who is “perfect”. Shilpa posted a video of them walking in a nature reserve. In the background a herd of deer can be seen.

Makers of the upcoming family entertainer film ‘Sukhee’ released the trailer today. Shilpa Shetty Kundra shared a new poster of the film which she captioned, “Kal aap bhi yahi kahenge, ‘Main Sukhee Hun’ #SukheeTrailer out tomorrow, stay tuned. #Sukhee releases on 22nd September only in theatres.”

Sukhee narrates the story of Sukhpreet ‘Sukhee’ Kalra, a 38-year-old Punjabi housewife and her friends, who go to Delhi to attend their school reunion after 20 years. Sukhee relives the 17-year-old version of herself whilst going through a plethora of experiences and emotions, and making the most difficult transition in her life – from being a wife and a mother, to being a woman again.

Directed by debutant director, Sonal Joshi, ‘Sukhee’ narrates the story of Sukhpreet ‘Sukhee’ Kalra, a 38-year old Punjabi housewife and her friends, who go to Delhi to attend their school reunion after 20 years.

For all the perverts out there who think it’s their birthright to peer up women’s skirts, here’s a film that peers right into women’s souls…seven of them, all so grandly scripted they seem to have walked into the film from our lives.

Every one of the seven female protagonists played, let me tell you, by actresses who were born to be their characters, is so sharply written, I came away thinking of them as people whose lives I’d like to know more about.
