- Actor
Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, Michael Grogan was involved in drama and
entertainment projects in junior and senior high school. The most
memorable was a full stage high school production of "Monty Python and
the Holy Grail" in 1980. He attended Pennsylvania State University,
receiving a Bachelor of Science in the Administration of Justice.
During his early years in college he took acting classes in
Philadelphia and eventually landed background actor and stunt work in
"Video Wars" released in 1983. His experience there influenced him to
stay in school and finish his degree. Michael went on to become a
commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps in 1985, serving
23 years and honorably retiring from active service in 2008 at the rank
of Lieutenant Colonel. As a Marine he served in air defense and
intelligence and saw combat service in the Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq,
and the Horn of Africa. He also earned three Master of Arts degrees in
Military Studies, National Security Affairs (Middle East), and
International Security. Since retirement he has served once again in
civilian capacity in Afghanistan and in counter-terrorism issues.
Michael Grogan is now returning to his early interests in filmmaking by
supporting independent film efforts both locally and nationally in a
number of capacities.
