Shelby Shaw graduated a year in advance with a BFA from the School of
the Art Institute of Chicago where she focused her interdisciplinary
studies around film, video, and writing. Shelby was raised in
Westchester County, NY where she took acting classes in high school and
in White Plains, eventually going on a slew of casting calls in New
York City. In 2012, Shelby assisted director Melika Bass with her
commissioned music video for Sigur Ros, and helped Bass' editors with
cutting a behind-the-scenes short which was chosen by the band as one
of three featurettes on their 'Voltari' DVD. That fall, she was
selected by Beau O'Reilly to act in his original play "Evanston, Which
Is Over There" through Curious Theatre Branch. Shelby has worked with
notable film distributors Music Box Films, Tribeca Film, and IFC
Films/Sundance Selects.
