SK started out 2020 with a 6-track EP "Six Songs from Insomnia," featuring acoustic instruments and analog synthesizers recorded live on 24 track tapes which then digitally manipulated in the post-Hip Hop era sensibility, mixing the elements of Jazz, Soul and Prog. Once the pandemic hit, a synthwave instrumental compilation "Solid State Survivors" was released with a vocal single "What's It Gonna Be?" He also sought to collaborate with a Tokyo-based MC/beatmaker and an old friend ASAP Takahashi for a Japanese-language Chillhop track "43 Mushoku (43 and Unemployed)" then with an ex-bandmate and synthesizerist Wingo Shackleford resulting with an ambient analog synth + nylon string guitar duet "Isolation Tapes." One of the tracks from this collaboration "No. 3: Memorial Day" was featured on "Kintsugi Spirit" Virtual Exhibition curated by Japanese American Cultural & Community Center.
