The Train of Death (2024)
Celebrating her recovery from cancer, Purnama (Hana Malasan) invites her younger sister, Kembang (Zara Leola), to go on holiday to a newly opened natural resort in a remote place. To get there, they board a tourist train that specifically takes trips to the resort. A series of terrors and mysteries arise when, every time they pass through the tunnel, one by one the carriages disappear. Now the lives and deaths of passengers and train officers are at stake. Purnama, Tekun (Fadly Faisal) the train steward, and the mysterious passenger Ramla (Putri Ayudya) diligently try to warn people. Unfortunately, as the warning is ignored, Purnama, Kembang, Tekun, and Ramla take action to save the train from the bigger threat that awaits in the final tunnel.

‘Parasite’ Producer Barunson E&a Makes First Foray Into Indonesia With Investment In Visinema’s ‘13 Bombs’

Exclusive: Korean production powerhouse Barunson E&a is making its first move into the burgeoning Indonesian film industry through an investment in Visinema’s upcoming action movie 13 Bombs.

The film, which recently premiered as the closing film at Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival, is directed by Angga Sasongko, who is also the founder of Jakarta-based Visinema, and stars Rio Dewanto, Putri Ayudya, Chicco Kurniawan and Ardhito Pramono. It tells the story of a group of terrorists who plant 13 bombs across key locations in the city of Jakarta. WME Independent recently picked up international rights to the film.

Barunson E&a is one of Korea’s leading production companies with credits including multiple Oscar-winner Parasite and Kim Jee-woon’s black comedy Cobweb, which premiered at this year’s Cannes film festival.

WME launches Indonesian thrillers ’13 Bombs’, ‘Dominion Of Darkness’ at AFM (exclusive)

Action thriller ‘13 Bombs’ is due for a local release on December 23.

US sales agent WME Independent is introducing two Indonesian features to buyers at the American Film Market (AFM) this week: Angga Dwimas Sasongko’s 13 Bombs and Bobby Prasetyo’s Dominion Of Darkness.

WME secured sales rights to 13 Bombs from production company Visinema Pictures at the recent Asian Contents & Film Market (Acfm).

The action thriller centres on a group of terrorists who threaten to explode 13 devices across the heart of metropolis Jakarta. The cast is headed by Rio Dewanto, Putri Ayudya, Chicco Kurniawan and Ardhito Pramono.

Production on privately backed road movie scheduled to start on September 20 in Bali, Java.

UK actor Andrew Howard, who starred in Netflix’s Oscar-winning short Two Distant Strangers and whose credits include Hatfields And McCoys and Tenet, will star opposite Indonesian actor Putri Ayudya in Bali-set drama Kupu Kupu.

Indonesia-based UK filmmaker Martin East is making his feature directorial debut from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nona Ica. East was an actor whos credits included Titanic and EastEnders before he became a music producer.

Production on the privately- backed project is scheduled to start on September 20 in Bali and Java.

Award-winning Singaporean filmmaker Eric Khoo‘s new series “Food Lore” is now available to stream on HBO. “Food Lore” is divvied up into eight episodes showcasing unique narratives, each highlighting tales and tastes across Asia. In addition to this imaginative review of food lore, Khoo’s series will work in tandem with accomplished filmmakers from each region. Featured filmmakers and countries include Erik Matti (the Philippines), Phan Dang Di (Vietnam), Billy Christian (Indonesia), Don Aravind (Singapore), Pen-Ek Ratanaruang (Thailand), Takumi Saitoh (Japan), and Ho Yuhang (Malaysia).

“Food Lore” is produced by Singapore-based company Bert Pictures, and in partnership with Infocomm Media Development Authority (Imda) in Singapore. The show will be available to U.S. subscribers starting Monday, March 2 on HBO Now, HBO Go, and partner platforms.
