Dick Carlier
- Actor
He was born and raised in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He was raised in a very creative family. He went to a normal school and later studied construction, after that specialized in Interior Design at Willem De Kooning Academy of Arts. Worked for an architecture agency and a few interior design companies where he also learned set-dressing.
As a photographer, he sometimes expects certain characters for his portraits and photo projects, so he learned about it by trying it with self-portraits. A few years later he was posing and playing certain characters for other photographers when he posed for them. Also he got interested in doing extra work for TV-shows, films and commercials. In 2014 he got a first chance to play a butler in a short 48-hours film project for Cinekid and in 2015 acting as a reporter with improvised text for a short crowd-funding short film. Many people told him to do more in film or on TV, so why not do so.
The first great movie was The Admiral in 2014 where he was asked to play one of the surgeon after he showed the character photo's of some of his characters he played during festivals. He realized he started to like it more and more and since he had no acting or singing training, he decided to use these projects as a learning school to become more experienced in the movie world.
Language: English, Dutch. He speaks all languages with a perfect natural accent. Education: construction, Interior design Hobbies: going to costume events, product design, photography, critic for music-composers, playing characters during festivals and events, steward during events.
