Warning! Spoilers for all MCU content released in 2024
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen some dramatic death scenes throughout 2024, with a few particularly shocking ends being met by various characters. Compared to previous years, 2024 has been quite light on Marvel releases, with only a single feature film, Deadpool & Wolverine, gracing theaters under the red banner thanks to a variety of delays. Other than that, spin-off series like Agatha All Along, Echo, and X-Men '97 have been the only source of Marvel deaths for the year.
Despite how few projects the MCU released in 2024, the year was still plenty bloody, with a higher-than-average fatality rate across what releases did premiere. While not too many long-running characters from previous phases met their demise in 2024, that's not to say that the deaths of newly-introduced players weren't significant in the grand scheme of the series. Be they genuinely tragic or played for laughs, the...

Marvel Studios alum Jac Schaeffer explains why one Agatha All Along character had to be killed off so soon after their MCU introduction. Agatha Harkness' quest into the Witches' Road claimed multiple victims before the coven finished their journey in the Agatha All Along finale. Debra Jo Rupp's Sharon Davis, Patti LuPone's Lilia Calderu, Ali Ahn's Alice Wu-Gulliver, and Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness herself died throughout Agatha All Along's nine episodes.
Speaking to Empire, Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer recalls the moment she realized Alice Wu-Gulliver wouldn't make it out alive of the Witches' Road. Although Schaeffer regretted killing off Alice,
"It is really sad, and it feels unfair. I know that's been the reaction of viewers, and I understand that, and sort of feel it myself. But it's a show about death. It was an imperative to take that seriously, and feel both...

Elizabeth Olsen is coming back as a version of the Scarlet Witch in the next year, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe has many exciting movies and series that would make sense for Wanda Maximoff to appear. Olsen's Marvel character was last seen in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which had the Scarlet Witch seemingly die. Then, Agatha All Along teased that Wanda could return in future MCU projects, especially since the show featured one of her sons, Billy Maximoff.
The Scarlet Witch's MCU journey is likely far from over, as Olsen wants to return as the character, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently commented on Scarlet Witch's MCU return, saying, "We are excited to find out when and how Scarlet Witch can return." Adding to that, Wanda will already be back in 2025, with Olsen set to play a different version of the character in the animated series Marvel Zombies.

Wiccan's MCU costume reveal in Agatha All Along includes some sneaky references to his parents, Scarlet Witch and Vision. Agatha All Along's two-episode finale sees Billy Kaplan earn his full Wiccan costume, which he first wears after finishing the final trial in the Witches' Road. Wiccan's comic-accurate suit and hood were previously teased in WandaVision, where a young Billy Maximoff wore a Halloween version of the costume, as well as in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where a Wiccan statue foreshadowed the hero's arrival.
On Instagram, Agatha All Along costume designer Daniel Selon shares a post explaining the design process behind Billy's Wiccan costume. Selon reveals that Wiccan's costume includes symbols such as "Wanda's crown, the mind stone, pentacle, moon phase to name a few". The team also "printed the texture of the Scarlet Witch's costume (from Dr. Strange) on the outside and printed Vision's iconically graphic...

9 episodes after it debuted, Agatha All Along delivered a double-headed Halloween treat that confirmed it as one of the best Marvel TV shows ever made. As with the opening 2 episodes, Marvel Television chose to drop both episodes 8, "Follow Me My Friend/To Glory At The End", and 9, "Mother, Maiden, Crone" together, creating something of a special event, and answering a multitude of questions.
After Agatha All Along episode 7's ending killed off Lilia Calderu and the Salem Seven, and finally revealed Aubrey Plaza's Rio Vidal is Death, the penultimate episode picks up quickly with the fallout. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer had promised that something huge would be revealed about Kathryn Hahn's Agatha, and there was, of course, the question of Billy Maximoff's plans at the end of the Witches Road, and the looming shadow fo Scarlet Witch to deal with.

Marvel's Vision, Paul Bettany recently opened up about his take on Agatha All Along as well as his upcoming MCU series, Vision Quest. Bettany first started playing Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, playing supporting roles in subsequent crossover films before becoming a co-lead in WandaVision, despite his character's death in Avengers: Infinity War. The latter series followed Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, her husband Vision, and their twin sons, with the major twist being that the latter three were created by Wanda's reality-warping powers.
However, while Wanda was trapped in a false reality of her own making, Vision's body was being rebuilt elsewhere. This new, all-white Vision clashes with Wanda's Vision, before taking off to destinations unknown. He has not been seen in the MCU since, but Bettany will star as this iteration of the character in Vision Quest. Another WandaVision spinoff, Agatha All Along, premiered this fall, and it...

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along episode 5, "Darkest Hour, Wake Thy Power."Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer opened up about the wild ride that was episode 5. Not only did the episode contain the much-awaited reveal of Teen's identity, but it also featured the most shocking character death of the series so far. Since its airing, fan speculation has run rampant regarding how Agatha's trial unfolded.
In an interview with The Wrap, Schaeffer addressed the theory that the trial wasn't for Agatha, explaining that she "wanted to do Agathas trial earlier than people expected." The Agatha All Along boss further stated that the trial did go as planned:
Yes, they did pass this trial. The power piece of it is a larger conversation, but the sort of mechanics of the trial, what we were trying to do and again, like always, I love everyones interpretations. And I do believe,...

Marvel Studios has shared two new teaser promos for Agatha All Along to social media, and in addition to taking us back to Westview for a little trip down WandaVision memory lane, they give us a creepy first glimpse of the villainous Salem's Seven.
These shape-shifting baddies were the children of Nicholas Scratch (making them Agatha's grandchildren). They were magically-powered humans who had the ability to transform into animal hybrid/demonic creatures.
We're not sure if the Disney+ series will introduce the exact same group of characters, but in the comics, the team consisted of Vertigo, Brutacus, Gazelle, Hydron, Reptilla, Thornn, and Vakume.
The cast has not been confirmed, but members of the Salem's Seven are rumored to be played by Okwui Okpokwasili, Bethany Curry, Athena Perample, Marina Mazepa, Britta Grant, Chau Naumova, and Alicia Vela-Bailey.
Will the Seven ultimately be revealed to be doing the bidding of Mephisto,...

Agatha remains one of Marvel Studios' most intriguing upcoming projects, particularly with it serving as a follow-up to 2021's critically acclaimed WandaVision.
Nexus Point News has today shared new intel on the show's characters, starting with Joe Locke's Billy. They believe the plan is to reveal his true identity as the teenage son of Wanda Maximoff later in the series, making it a huge moment for non-comic book readers.
Aubrey Plaza is Rio Vidal, one of Agatha's antagonists, while Patti LuPone is Lilia Calderu, Sasheer Zamata is Jennifer Kale, and Ali Ahn is Alice Wu.
Miles Guiterrez-Riley, meanwhile, is said to be playing Eddie, Billy's boyfriend. Likely to disappoint fans is the fact it doesn't sound like he has any connection to Teddy Altman, a.k.a. Hulking. Perhaps we'll meet him down the line; then again, it could be that Bruce Banner's son first introduced in She-Hulk...
