Janet Jackson is infamously press shy. The pop icon rarely speaks about her personal life. But this year, she finally broke her silence: in a documentary on Lifetime.
“For her to want to open up, I’m flabbergasted,” says rapper and Jackson collaborator Q-Tip, one of the many marquee names who appeared on screen in Lifetime’s four-hour event, which debuted this year to celebrate of the 40th anniversary of her first album. Whoopi Goldberg, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Regina Hall, Tyler Perry and Samuel L. Jackson also jumped at the chance to appear in the television venture.
Pretty good for a network that, in recent memory, was known for Christmas pics and made-for TV movies.
Over the past few years, Lifetime has emerged as a formidable player in the documentary space, particularly for sensitive and complex female storytelling. Lifetime prides itself on being a network for women, by women; with that,...

Prior to becoming the host of “Late Night” in 2014, Seth Meyers was the head writer on “Saturday Night Live” for 12 and a half years. After returning to host the show in 2018, Meyers said he was humbled.
“I felt like I had to apologize to so many hosts from my time there,” Meyers said on Monday night during a storyteller conversation at the Tribeca Festival. “When I was the head writer there, a lot of times the host would call you into their dressing room and say, ‘I don’t like this joke’ or ‘I don’t like the monologue.’ In the back of my head, all I ever thought was, ‘Fucking shut up and do it… Trust us. Just do it. We wrote it.’”
He continued, “Then I was the host and all of a sudden it was like, ‘Oh, I don’t like this joke. Oh no, I don’t like this sketch.

Wowza, Tyra. Episode 3 of Cycle 22 and you are still smoking hot in the pixie cut and the tailored threads. I am loving this season already. As for the models, we had 21 Kens and Barbies at the beginning of "The Guy Who Gets Shipped Out." To determine who the 14 finalists will be, the models must tackle their fears by strutting a catwalk suspended high in the air. The final 14 models will be named during this episode and the first of the finalists gets sent home. Can they fit all of that in one episode? Of course they, can. This is America's Next Top Model after all.
Joining Tyra Banks, Miss J., Kelly Cutrone, and Yu Tsai are some cray model wannabes (Devin), some princesses (Hadassah), some petite hopefuls (Courtney, Maleesa, Bryant), some crazy-eyed contenders (Bello), a Goldilocks Lothario (Mikey), an occidental god (Justin), a deaf dreamboat (Nyle), and several other beautiful but less prominent figures.
