Kalond Irlanda

Kalond Irlanda is an award-winning American actor and astrologer; he is often referred to as 'charming' and 'genuine' by colleagues, family and strangers all the same, despite his unassuming first impression.

Born in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Kalond was raised by a diverse group of his extended family of aunts, uncles, and grandparents, (Polish maternal line, Puerto Rican Paternal line) as his separated parents diligently worked to provide for him and his older sister. At age 11, his father was imprisoned; where Kalond was not allowed to speak to or see again until his 18th birthday. He was not left without a masculine guide, however, as his mother married and brought another dad into the fold, who guided Kalond through many of his 'coming of age' moments.

Kalond, considering law school and journalism, was forced by divine intervention and his old sister to follow a more artistic path. He went on to receive a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Music Theatre at the Metropolitan State University of Denver with honors.

Kalond spent the next chapter participating in around 40 productions (Colorado and Montana) primarily as an actor, with a handful of director/tech positions; being nominated for 'best actor' 14 times, eventually winning 'best actor' for his role of Bert in the musical 'Mary Poppins', and originating the role of Doug in an International Premiere of "Totally Awesome 80s Ski-Town USA." A brand new musical written by Charlie Schmidt and Cory Wendling, which created a new theatrical genre, 'party musical'. He was also a member and performance critic of the Colorado Theatre Guild, where he explored a variety of theaters across the state, rating around 20 productions.

Kalond now resides in Southern California with his partner, Rose. He is most known for his breakout stage debut as Romeo in "Romeo and Juliet" (nominated for Best Actor) and his latest feature film, "Bring Her To Me," produced by Charles Band.
