The Fast was a punk band from New York City that was formed in the mid-1970's. The group was founded by real-life brothers Paul, Miki, and Armand Zone. Moreover, the band was such a popular staple at the legendary punk club Max's Kansas City that a drink was named after them. The Fast released their first single "Boys Will Be Boys" in 1976. This was followed by the albums "The Fast For Sale" in 1980 and "Leather Boys From The Asphalt Jungle" in 1981 as well as several additional singles. Despite sparking the interest of Ric Ocasek and embarking on a stadium tour with The Cars in the late 1970's, The Fast nonetheless still dissolved as a band in the early 1980's. Paul and Miki went on to form the electronic dance duo Man 2 Man, who scored a big dance club hit in Britain with the racy tune "Male Stripper" in 1986. "Male Stripper" eventually became a crossover pop radio hit and subsequently peaked at number four for two weeks on the UK pop radio charts in 1987. After Miki Zone died from spinal meningitis complicated by AIDS on December 31, 1986, Paul Zone changed the name Man 2 Man to Man to Man and continued to record under that particular moniker into the 1990's.
