Sylvia Young, the British showbiz icon who launched the careers of countless musicians and actors, has died at 86.

In a statement, Young’s daughters Alison and Frances Ruffelle confirmed her passing, writing: “It is with great sadness we let you know that our incredible Mum, Sylvia Young OBE passed away peacefully this morning 30th July 2025.

Born in East London, Young initially began providing classes in 1972 and officially founded the Sylvia Young Theatre School in Drury Lane, central London nine years later. The school, which doubled as a talent agency, moved to Marylebone two years later.

Jimmy Kimmel will step down as host for the summer, beginning his annual summer vacation. In his place, ABC will turn the show over to a rotating cast of guest hosts.

Kimmel's summer break began in 2020 when he worked the time off into his contract with ABC. Since then, stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Anthony Anderson, and Dua Lipa have taken a turn hosting the show (with mixed results).

The 29-year-old “Houdini” singer arrived at the opening of her Radical Optimism pop-up shop on Thursday (June 19) in London, England. To greet fans at the special event, she wore a black lace dress, leather boots, and a leopard-print bag.

The pop-up shop is located at Protein Studios in Shoreditch. It’s to run from June 19 through June 22 and is open each of those days from 11 am through 6 pm. The pop-up shop is celebrating Dua‘s two performances at Wembley Stadium in London during her Radical Optimism World Tour. There, fans can purchase special merch, grab a drink, and check out a special immersive presentation of Dua‘s Radical Optimism album, presented by L-isa Immersive Sound.

After a flood of rumors online, Dua Lipa has revealed that she’s engaged to actor Callum Turner.

Fans have speculated about her engagement after glimpses of a wedding ring on the pop star’s finger in recent Instagram posts. Lipa finally confirmed these rumors in an interview with British Vogue.

“Yeah, we’re engaged,” she said. “It’s very exciting.”
