Sophie Pamela Correa-Smith was born on the 6th of August 1996 in London, England. Sophie is the daughter of Owen A Smith (Director of Photography and Producer) and Sol Correa. Providing her with a rich heritage and ethnic background with a British born father of Jamaican parents and her mother originating from Chile in South America which has provided her with an Anglo, Latin and Jamaican ethnicity.
From a very young age, Sophie demonstrated her natural talent and interest in the Performing Arts, Sophie started off by mimicking characters she saw in films and on TV. Sophie started taking ballet lessons from the age of 3 years old reaching Grade 5. Sophie also took singing tuition from the age of 6 years old, working her way up to study for her Grade 7 award before gaining additional training from music producers and other professional musical performers helping her to grow as a singer and musical performer. Sophie went on to study drama and music theory and performance through her school years and was awarded a music scholarship at the age of 16 years old and then studied performing arts. Sophie joined Southwark Playhouse Youth Theartre Group a London based theatre company in her mid/late teens gaining acting and performance experience putting on devised productions for live public audiences. Sophie is passionate about the arts and languages studying Spanish and German A Level and as a result is able to perform in both English and Spanish. Sophie has always been encouraged by her father to take an interest in film and television production and has worked on set as a camera trainee gaining experience as a second assistant camera technician. This lead her to be further encouraged in an acting career through working on set with more experienced actors and working as a TV and film extra at every opportunity.
