Born into the world of cinema, Yehia's father, Alaa Karim, an esteemed Egyptian movie director with a master's degree from CalArts, introduced him to the film industry at an early age. This early exposure included acting in his father's film, El Garag (1994), among others, which fostered Yehia's love for the industry.
